Great game with friends. The fact your character doesn't need to sleep, and there are a bunch of minor tasks to complete keeps everyone busy working towards one goal or another. Based on other reviews I can see how solo the grind might be a bit too much, unless you enjoy listening to an audiobook or podcast while chipping away at task requirements.

If you have 1-3 friends you can play with and you all enjoy cozy games, this is great!

Excellent game! If you grew up playing beat-em ups, then you will be right at home with this game. It is not as complex as Streets of Rage 4, but is definitely in line with TMNT 2 (NES) / TMNT The Arcade Game, TMNT 3 Manhattan Project, and TMNT 4 Turtles in Time.

This game has great visuals and audio elements. The soundtrack is excellent.

I ran through this with three friends on normal. It provided a decent challenge. It has some nice unlocks for long time fans of the series. You can definitely ramp up the difficulty for some challenge. Look online for speed runs of people playing the hardest difficulties. There is a lot of strategies to employ if you're looking to dive that deep into the game.

This improves on the original in many ways. It's a great game if you loved the original. Only gets better with every update.

Great game. Obviously a modern version of Ivan "Ironman" Stewart's Super Off Road. The workshop and ongoing support makes me feel like this game will only get better. Relatively simple, but fair racing.

This is a great game to relax with. It captures the more calming game experiences that were present during the 16bit era, and updates it for modern gaming. There is still some fighting and combat, but most of the action is at a slower pace. I would really enjoy seeing more games like this produced. The care the original developer put into this game is evident at every turn, something that is missing in modern AAA games.

Update: Decided I needed to update my Nov 24, 2018 review. The game has continued to get better with each update. There feels like there is three times more to do now. If you haven't played it yet, check it out.

They lied during preorders, didn't deliever at launch what they promised. Now over 2 years later, they still haven't. Just this week, they also decided to give their entie community the middle finger.

Historically their DLC model wasn't terrible, but it never addressed the missing promised features from prelaunch. There was an issue with it, DLC started to introduce power creep, you had to buy the latest DLC to beat the newest enemy they added.

The biggest draw for me to Payday 2, compared to the origianl, were the stealth options each mission was going to have. They've done everything they can to nerf that. First they force you to do missions without any stealth segments, or on multiday heists one part will be loud. Just to imply they support "stealth gameplay", they give you tiny added experience bonus of completing mission without setting off alarms. The main point is, one way or another you're forced to buy those DLC guns. You'll need the DLC when the mission goes loud because they've nerfed stealth skills, or because one of the days doesn't have a silent option.

The DLC model wasn't terrible cost wise, within a month a they would have it available half off, and then 2-3 months later 75% off. This week they decided that wasn't making them enough money though...

During their "Crimefest", which is an annual 'thank the community for all their support' they introduced paid guns. You now have to spend ~$2.50 per gun to get the best weapons in the game. Crimefest is supposed to be a week of some smaller free items, instead of their typical DLC pricing, but they gave the community the middle finger, again during their "thank the community event".

This wouldn't be so terrible, if this wasn't just another bullet point on items they completely lied about during preorders and launch. They have been stating for years they would never put microtransactions in this game, one price to get the full game, and occasional DLC. You can find interviews and event Steam forum posts by the developers up until a few months ago saying there would never be microtransactions. This update, first day of Crimefest, was nothing but implementing microtransactions into the game.

They've lied a lot, but this one took the cake, and I hope the community never forgets.

Good game, but a bad port. If you want a number score, I would say 3/5.

First, I've played Boss Monster a few times before this electronic version showed up on Kickstarter. I do not own the mobile version.

Let me start by saying I own a Surface Pro 3, a Windows 8.1 tablet. I thought having a digital copy of this would make it fun to play on the go. The problem is the port has some critical bugs they need to fix. Story time...

The major game bug I had is with touch devices, after a while the game loses focus. When you're tapping the screen you're actually clicking behind the game window. When you finally Alt+Tab to the desktop you'll see all these programs open because you've been clicking your shortcuts and items on your desktop. This bug is terrible, and would happen every 3-5 minutes without fail, when not using a mouse. I would have to hit the Windows button a few times to bring up the start menu, then click the program in the task bar, or I would have to hook up a keyboard and forgo the ease of using the Surface as a tablet to recover the game.

This bug seemed to happen in fullscreen, so then I thought "I'll just play in Window mode". Surprise! Here is the first clue this is a cheap port of the mobile version. You get 4 options in the Settings menu. Music volume, sound effect volume, game speed, and fullscreen on/off. "Okay, no real graphic settings, but at least I can make it Windowed" I thought. This brings me to the next major bug. If you have a high resolution screen, like on a Surface Pro 3, the game window is tiny, card text is unreadable. Then you discover you can't resize the window, or make the window take up the full screen. You have two options, tiny unreadable window, or fullscreen. :(

Fine fine... I loaded the game up on my main desktop PC and figured with it's lower resolution screen at least it would be readable in Window mode, and it was! I then figured, "Alright let me play a few games!" That is where I ran into the next issue, again because it is a poor port. This game has minimal Steam features, which tends to be the trend with mobile ports. This means there is no Cloud Saves. To unlock extra Heroes, which is DLC I own, I have to win 40 games... that means I have to win 40 games on each device I own because the save game isn't transferred between my devices or carried over after I reformat. :(

Lastly, some game design choices are weird. When using a touch devices you have to double tap everything to activate, when using a mouse it is a single click. Also the Halt button seems like a waste. There is no reason for the Halt button. The game should show you the 3 buttons, Pass All, Go (Pass Once), and Play Card. If you choose Play Card, then it should pause/halt. There is no reason to have to open a menu 95% of the time just to get to "Pass All". It seems very unnecessary, except as an attempt to save visual space on a mobile device.

Now. Why the thumbs up? It's a fun game, and I hope they fix these issues, it was just released and I trust they'll look into it. Though even things like the "In-App Store" just scream it's a very weak mobile port. I figure once they iron out these bugs with touch devices, and maybe add some graphic settings (at least resolution options or scaling) the game will be perfect for a quick purchase and play on a trip.

Pros:
* The pixel graphics are nice.
* The music is nice.
* Faithful to the card game.

Cons:
* No Steam support (other than trading cards), which means you're save isn't transferred between devices.
* No graphics options
* Poor touch screen/device support

To make this game 5/5, it would have been awesome to have Steam Workshop support, allow people to make custom cards, or at least add new images to existing cards. I feel Steam features, and mods/customizing is locked out to keep the PC/mobile ports the same, and to sell DLC unfortunately. One can dream though...

To clarify, this is an engine to play board games. You can play almost any game you can think of. There have been weekly or at least monthly updates, and they keep adding more features the community requests. I had one issue with the workshop not syncing, and the devs actually worked with Valve to get the issue resolved quickly.

The only problem for new players, is finding games to join. You need to look for groups that host TTS games. An easy one is Tabletop Simulator Club (look for that group in Steam Groups).

Once you play a few games you will realize how great this engine/sandbox is, and if you find a few people to play online with, you will have hours of entertainment.

Last comment, I had to chance to meet the developers at PAX Prime, and they both seemed extremely nice. Can't wait to see where they take TTS next, or their next project.

A very slow game, expect games longer than Total War or Civilization. Great fun though! Failing is what leads to the chaos and fun.

Watch while your uncle raises rebels to take your crown, or your son murders you so he can inherit your throne. Even your brother might throw you in jail.

The different results of all the actions you can take make this game fun to play. Also 32 player multiplayer.

After playing this game for many hours, the narratives you write are quite awesome. You'll also lose a couple of friends once you execute them and their heirs.
