This game looks like it's fresh out of the Win95 era but is a surprisingly fun and in depth naval sim. Give it a try; you won't be disappointed.

The game is very pretty. The sound design and art design is pretty on point, and if you focus on that you can have some fun making big ships that shoot each other up.

The downside is that this feels like a pretty pale imitation of Rule the Waves, which is a far better game despite the lack of graphics. Notable negatives include: the battle AI, which is pretty much shove fleets at each other until one or the other is entirely sunk. The AI makes little to no effort to duck out of a losing situation and will happily throw good ships after bad until it has no fleet left. The economics feel extremely weird, where 3/4 of your naval budget needs to go into a research amount, a tiny pittance into maintenance and crew costs, a big chunk into building shipyards, and then a tiny bit into building bursts of warships.

RTW3 is a vastly superior game, and if you're considering this, you should look into that game instead. I picked this up a while back because it looked promising and finally started trying it out over the holidays this year while I had some free time, and about the only thing playing this made me want to do is start a new RTW3 campaign.

Cheap and well put together for a first try. You'll spend a couple hours, beat the game, but hey, it's less than a buck. I'm looking forward to seeing what this dev's next title is.

Great game. Shines on the steam deck. Get it and play it on the go!

3D factorio. This scratches the itch that Satisfactory didn't hit for me.
