Early Access Review
Wouldn't advice for the game in its current state.

In the previous build you could see what they wanted to got for with a more methodical ARPG in Act 1. It was pretty fun to go through the campaign, smash the normal monsters and actually tussle with what rare/magic monsters you came across. Boss fights were great pacing wise as well.
In that build the late game did boil down to boring 1-2 button screen clears which I did not prefer, but good for a bit and you can see the vision.
Played: Sorceress and Ranger

The new update... Kind of botched it all up. Every white mob is an active threat, you sting with the power of a thousand blunt pencils and the pacing during campaign is gone.
No clue how the endgame is this patch, couldn't be arsed to slog through ACT 2 on normal to even get to Cruel difficulty.
Played: Witch, Warrior and Huntress

My suggestions since it is early access after all:
Give us the power fantasy on smashing white mobs, ramp up health from there for blue mobs, make the yellow mobs engaging fights. Boss fights were excellent pre-Dawn of the Hunt, didn't have that much trouble with it since the update but haven't gotten past half of ACT 2.
Haven't played current build enough to comment on items drops and movement speed.

Enjoyable little souls like, stylistically recalls memories of old school rune scape. Gameplay is very reminiscant of Dark Souls in energy management, parrying and punishing.

There's a nice supply of fresh new gear to keep you interested and trying. Additionally it leaves you wanting for just a bit more and does not overstay its welcome. Played it fully co-op and that was easy to set up as well.

Very much would recommend it if you want to try an accessible souls-like or just want a nice, sweet experience as an experienced parry addict.

Had a lovely time with Veritus. Very nice stint of dungeon exploration, puzzles and boss battles.

So, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, 56 hours in. 45 hours in the first area, now 11 hours into the second.

The world feels very alive with NPC's with their own rhytms and plenty of small things happening along the roadside (e.g. bandits ambushing you, bandits ambushing some other people, guards apprehending bandits, traveling parties with gamblers, priests and actual side quest starters).

The introduction is about 3 hours long and sets you up with the story of KCD1, some context for the current region and why you're here and context as for the shenanigans that ensue in these first couple of hours. The introduction is a bit more linear, but sets a very good base. It also tells the backstory of KCD1 in a very organic way.

Then the first region opens up for you with the first quest: Get access to the wedding. No horse, no doggo, go fend for yourself. Over the course of the first area and it's plentiful sidequests, main quests and activities you get introduced to most of the mechanics and systems in the game. Reputation per village, location memory in regards to heinous activities.

Most of the quests are amusing and interesting but they might let you roam from place A to B and from B to A a bit often. But every quest has interesting and well told characters, good dialogue with (actual) impactful options when they arise.
Which transitions nicely in the biggest thing in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 for me; the immersion. Talking about dialogues, you can pretty easily tell when people are uneasy or comfortable and steer the conversation in certain ways. A lot of NPC's have things going on around you, not just with you. You help people in zone A and you come across them in zone B with different consequences based on your actions. You have to actually brew your potions with right technique, get bloody after combat, stink as a pig after dealing with corpses. Most of the time it feels real in a way most games stay gameslike.

I liked the combat in Kingdom Come Deliverance 1 and do so as well in part 2. You don't have to start all the way from scratch for your combat techniques which helps a lot in the initial hurdle to actually tussle with bandits (since lorewise you're more experienced since part 1).
Directional swings, timed blocks/parries, combos and area control are the key components here. It has a learning curve, but it is visceral and rewarding. Additionally it leans into that sense of immersion again. While you do end up as quite the killing machine, it is very much something you need to pay attention to the scenario's you might fight in (don't get surrounded!).

Unless you want to take the stealthy approach of course, you can still poison arrows or food and wait through their routine for them to drop dead. You don't have to; you can also get rid of the one dude with closed armor, don their outfit and just walk in (as long as you act inconspicuous). Remember that suspicious activity might change the behaviour of people.

Graphically it looks well and runs great on mid-end systems. There's a lot of optimisation and QA done before release and it shows in the low amount of bugs and the great performance. Plenty of impressive setpieces and layouts in the game as well.

When looking at the negatives their aren't many; there might be some smaller bugs and the transition from the first area into the second area might be a bit cutscene heavy or railroaded. The AI for NPC's is great 97% procent of the time, but there were some moments when after interacting they snapped into their programmed behaviour quite abruptly. These are all nitpicks in the bigger picture.

Compared to Kingdom Come Deliverance 1 part 2 released with a bigger scope, more balanced, less buggy and with a good evolution on the previously established systems. Very quickly became one of my favourite games and I'm happy to see it is received so well.

One of the best bullet heavens out there and free to boot.

Plenty of mechanics that lean into each other, giving you plenty of those dopamine hits when they 'click' like you're used to from game like Vampire Survivor. Next to the expansive bullet heaven roguelite game there's plenty to go around with side activities to rake in more coins or buffs.

Theming is Hololive Idol inspired and is very well done and enjoyable by fans. Mates I recommended the game to generally seem to like the game as well, despite not being into Vtubers.

Absolute banger of a colony sim/city builder.

Manages to find the right balance between sim mechanics and aesthetics, leans into the theming very well. Every playthrough gives you a lot of projects to take on at your own interests with different challenges around water and pollution management.

Early access now, but I expect this will become one of the all time greats in the genre.

Another banger of a game by vanripper.

This time trying to score the ghosts with some maintenance work, dodge the attacks and fix the machines. Very different game from Helltaker and absolute blast to play.

Value for money 10/10

I've been loving my time with Old School Rally and am looking forward towards ongoing Early Access development.

Music is a vibe, nice sense of speed and twitchy control and the cars feel quite different in driving style. Graphics hit that nostalgic sweet spot.

I'd wish for a bigger variety in tracks, but what is there is golden and only noticed the repetition towards the end of the career.

Just doing a quick one since it is launch day:
- Game runs and looks good on default settings for me at around 80fps, only disabled motion blur (3060ti, i7 9700F, 32GB 2600mhz ram, 1080p)
- Very good sound design and soundtrack, absolutely cinematic
- Gameplay is very enjoyable
- Story so far is very Indiana Jones, love it.
