Crytek is putting a remarkably great effort into Hunt to not only to make it attractive for new players and keep it alive as a competitive online-shooter with a healthy player count but also to make it interesting and fun time and time again for the enthusiasts, that stick with it for years and hundreds or thousands of hours playtime.

Hunt Showdown "1896" is a huge step and definitely one in the right direction, bringing a variety of big and impactful changes to the game that is going to celebrate its 5th anniversary after the official release in August 2019 soon. Keep this in mind!
5 years of hunting, even more for the veterans that jumped in during the Beta or Early Access stage.

Who would have expected that the game would run flawlessly without any issues or errors after an update of this kind? It is more of a relaunch, bringing a new map and an engine upgrade, besides dozens of content features, everything for free!
Shame on you simple-minded people who focus on the UI only, ignoring all the positive things aside from it.

Personally, I just came back to Hunt after a 5-month break.
The hype for the update made me even buy a new 4K monitor to profit from the newly added Nvidia DLSS support and I am highly impressed, not only by the visual improvements but also by the love for detail they put into the new map and other additions once again.
The game has undoubtedly several problems in its current state, but from my point of view they are minor and will be fixed soon, that is for sure. Unless you have a mid-tier graphics card from 2014 the game is probably still absolutely playable. I am happy that the update didn't break the approved, familiar game mechanics, even with the addition of bullet drop and other gameplay changes, it still feels like playing good old Hunt Showdown, which is great fun to this day.

Haters, don't you ever forget that Crytek is not EA, they are listening to the community. One can not appreciate this enough. Bombarding negative reviews over here is definitely not appropriate to criticize the issues you encounter, this is just a stupid way to let off steam on Steam.

Hunt Showdown is a unique and awesome game that will always have a special place in my heart as a gamer, satisfying me in a way no other shooter could and giving me countless moments of exciting fights, fulfilling teamwork and funny encounters to remember.

Thank you, Crytek and every diligent soul working on this true masterpiece,
don't let the ungrateful, negative people bring you down!
