Amazing game. Leaves you wanting more. Highly immersive. Understandable why valve didn't want to make a flatscreen version. This game sets the standard for VR games. Not going to give anything away regarding the plot or ending. Now that VR is more affordable, if you already have a decent gaming rig, take the plunge.

I have no idea what I'm doing in this game, which is great because I have no idea what I'm doing in real life either.

I recommend this game only if you buy it in a sale. I was really excited to see a new game and I even bought it pre-release which I never do normally. It is not as good as Borderlands or Borderlands 2. They really are trying too hard with this game and it just doesn't quite have that 'Borderlands' charm - it feels really contrived (which sounds silly as all games are planned and artificial but some games still have that characteristic feeling, like a personality of their own). I actually spent a lot of time on the second game playing all 6 characters and 3 full playthroughs (solo) with each one. I have good memories and feelings of Borderlands 2 and enjoyed the humour. This game did not add a new and exciting layer to the franchise in a way that I was expecting and it felt like a chore playing another character (apart from Athena, the one saving grace).

MINOR SPOILER WARNING DO NOT READ BELOW IF YOU HAVEN'T YET COMPLETED THE GAME

One thing I will say is that I really liked Athena and hope that in the next installment she is the saviour of this franchise and is implemented in such a way that she becomes a key protagonist with a happy ending. Also f**k Lilith, she was annoying in all 3 games.

Great game but there is a learning curve so don't expect to run out guns blazing and take down the other team on your first go!

Some points worth mentioning:

1) You'll need to figure out your loadout, which weapon(s) work best for you and which essential items (depending on your class and the game mode) that you'll need. Try everything.
2) You will die a lot at first. This is normal.
3) You need to figure out each map, tactics and mode then you will really see the game start to shine.
4) Playing coop will help you get used to the basic dynamics of the game (this will also help a bit with #1).
5) No ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ or pay to win, so the chances are if the other guy killed you he is playing better than you at that point.
6) Don't bother trying to use a controller lol.
7) Night vision goggles, if equipped, are 'b' by default to turn on and off.
8) RPG is ridiculous - you'll probably blow yourself up and half your team the first time you use it.
9) Team Killing is on by default on most servers so try not to kill your own team members as you'll most likely get kicked / banned if it keeps happening. If you do this by accident make sure that you apologise (good etiquette). Check each server's rules.
10) If you're playing as an insurgent and your team wins it is customary to shout 'Allahu Akbar' at the top of your voice!

I can honestly say that the game gets better and better the more you play and develop. You'll have good days and bad days but most of all you should be having lots of fun.

I've done 3 full playthroughs solo with Axton (the commando) up to level 61. Normal, True Vault Hunter Mode and Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode. It can be done. UVHM is hard until you learn 3 things, slag is necessary, enemies can regenerate health (plus they have 4x as much health as TVHM) and you will most likely have to respec your skill tree. The game is a challenge and really enjoyable. There are bugs such as when looking through your backpack scrolling through items doesn't always work so you have to exit the backpack and re-enter to get it to work - this is the same with your safe.

The fact that this game has stacks of missions, areas, skins, NPCs, item variations and a ♥♥♥♥ load of youtube fans covering every aspect of the game make it worth the money. I've had so much fun playing this game and I've still yet to play with others (raid bosses springs to mind). If you're going to buy it, either wait for the GOTY edition (if they make it) or get the season pass. In hindsight I would probably buy the mecromancer DLC and playthrough with Gaige as that looks like a lot of fun (some say OP) - Krieg the Psycho also looks like fun.

Just buy it!

I was expecting a long game (50+ hours) due to the huge game files. Although I focussed on the main storyline the game was finished in under 16 hours which was a little disappointing. The graphics are superb and the scenery is highly detailed and aesthetically pleasing. The weapons, different types of ammo (with varying effects on enemy characters) and schematics (loved the sentry bot) make encounters with hostiles interesting. Overall the game is too short, the storyline is weak but the low price, gameplay and aesthetics make up for most of it. I chose to play this game with an xbox 360 controller due to the amount of driving involved - there are races which are easy but unavoidable.

A classic FPS game with one main goal - kill everything! Non stop action, plenty of violence and 0 mouse lag. What more could you want? 100% recommend to any dedicated fps action gamer!

Highly detailed graphics and locations (even on medium settings). Interesting story. Some intense action but at times a little too much. After every cutscene the default switch to handgun is irritating at times. Will there be a Max Payne 4 after this?

Definitely the best in the franchise. It almost makes up for the horrible bugs and glitches in the first 2 games. This is the 3rd game, play the other 2 games first and you will appreciate this one even more. Tip: save often, especially before taking a mission (most missions autosave when you start them).

Frustratingly buggy, nonsensical map system and irritatingly unavoidable situations make it hard to upgrade (necessary) armour if you're only willing to follow the main storyline. Consider exploring in detail and following many side quests to get the most out of this game - that is if you can be bothered.
