Brilliantly blurring the lines between the microscopic and cosmic scales, with haunting music, and play that rewards gentleness and patience - this is meditation made into game form. To be avoided by those who demand a constant stream of explosions and the like. For anyone else, this is a beautiful expereience that must not be missed.

I started at this game on Sep. 12, 2011, playing with max. difficulty and perma-death. During the next two months, I played -nothing- else; I was interested in only in sending one char after another to their inevitable doom in Dredmor's dungeons. Finally, on Nov. 15, after logging in over SIX HUNDRED HOURS of play time, I killed the final boss for the first time. If you value your family and friends, I beg of you, DO NOT buy this game!

In the few days I've owned this, I've already logged more hours on it then all but a handful of the games in my collection. If I had know it was THIS good, I would have bought it the moment it was released....

If you're a serious gamer, don't let words like 'casual' (or "PopCap" for that matter) scare you away from this game. Despite being in a genre absolutely flooded with free games, Plants vs. Zombies, along with Defense Grid and (especially) Immortal Defense, is one of the few 'tower defense' games that are unquestionably worth paying for.

Been playing JRPGs from the days of the original Final Fantasy on the NES, and it has been quite some time since one has grabbed me like this. Takes a oh-so-familiar setting and turns it on its ear, managing to make it seem fresh again.
