The Excavation of Hob's Barrow

What a joy to play!
There is a long list of things to praise this game for, but, I need to start out by saying that the voice acting throughout this game is some of the best I have had the pleasure of listening to. As a Northern lass, I absolutely adored listening to the accents of the residents of Bewlay.
The setting is also so accurate to so many little villages throughout Northern England, that Im pretty sure Ive driven through a "Bewlay" at least once. Its a lovely, idyllic, quaint theme which runs beautifully as a backdrop for the story.

As for the story itself, it is a wonderful slow burn of a tale, with excellent pacing throughout. It at no point feels slow, and nothing ever feels like filler. It gives you just enough information at a time to keep you intrigued and keep you progressing, but cleverly conceals the twists and secrets of whats to come.

The puzzle aspect is nothing overly complex, and although I did have a few occasions of pacing back and forth trying to work out what I had missed, I never felt frustrated or in need of a guide. Everything you need is there waiting to be found, even if on occasion you do need to think outside the box.

An utter pleasure to play. Highly recommended
