This game is not bad, but its not good either. Being one myself, I cannot recommend it to a true HP fan.
I dont get the people who say it is a good game for Harry Potter fans. It is not at all that, on the contrary. I will explain further on. I will also list the good points on this game down below.

Now my critique points on this game:

- Brutally poor performance on PC:
I get regular fps dips and funny freezes, narrowed the settings down, capped the FPS and still they exist. Everywhere I read of players having similar issues, regardless of their PC specs.

- Bland, boring story without any depth:
It does not fit into the HP universe. Underage wizard gets abused by four old "keepers" to endure pain and suffering to kill a goblin who wants to drill under Hogwarts. What the ...?

- Repetitiveness:
Quests and challenges (poacher camps, merlin trials etc. all require the same routine over and over)

- No character depth or development:
You are the good guy, whether you like it or not. No matter how red your eyes are, how slytherin you are, how much avada kedavra you spam. You cannot plunge into the dark arts at all apart from learning the 3 unforgivables (and using them of course).

- Unrealistically high amount of different cultures in Hogwarts:
Before people scream racism: Mixed cultures and colours in this degree are not fitting in the britain of the 1880s/1890s where this game is set, where people of different colours were not at all as prominent in britain as they are now. If the game was set in the 2010s, it would of course be more fitting.

- Now lets explain why the game is bad for true Harry Potter fans (listed reasons):
1.) In 7 books there was not a single mention of different villages, castles etc. being right around Hogwarts, except Hogsmeade.
Hogwarts and the area of Hogwarts according to the books and movies consists of Hogwarts castle, the grounds (including the quidditch pitch and the gamekeepers hut, the forbidden forest, the black lake), Hogsmeade, and maybe the mountains around it. Yet the game consists of 70% small villages, castle ruins and even coastal areas which do not fit the lore at all.

2.) Poachers are killing animals in the forbidden forest. Of course, every headmaster that would fit the lore would have taken action and banished them from the grounds, and not let an underage wizard do the job.

3.) Every Hogwarts student according to the books and movies arrives by train (Starting in London, no stops inbetween!) every year. Sebastian Sallow, being from Feldcroft, comes by foot then?

4.) Curfew. All students, except prefects, have a curfew. In one mission this is in place, but other than that, you can wander around at night fully visible with no worries. Not like in the books and movies at all.

5.) The castle. It is beautifully made, and there are lots of spots that remind you of the movies, and a bit of the books. But the castle is just too damn small! I would have wished that they had cut 3/4 of the world and used that space to expand the castle size. Where are the seven floors? Where are the countless classrooms? Why is dumbledores office not on the same level as the room of requirement for example? Where is the caretakers office? Etc. etc. This wouldve been easily done had they just removed all the villages, castles and the never ending land around Hogwarts in the game.

6.) Quidditch, where is it? Again, use the space you wasted on the boring villages and integrate Quidditch! The pitch is already there.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Onto the good stuff:
- Beautiful graphics
- Apart from being way too small, the castle is well made and looks stunning
- Hogsmeade is done pretty well
- Very fitting, dynamic music depending on where you are and what you are doing in the game, and what time of day it is
- Little details (not being able to enter the girls rooms as a male, paintings that react to you, lots of different animals, cats, ghosts etc.)
- Common rooms are a big plus, being just as in the books and/or movies, you can enter every dormatory and even the toilets with bathtubs!
- The fighting system with the use of all the different spells is very fun to use and opens the possibility to experiment for quirky combos.
- The use of the room of requirement as a kind of home base for the new 5th year student is a good move and could fit the lore.
- The ability to grow different herbs and brew potions is very neat.
- The ability to change your outfits, hair etc. is fun and should be even more developed (facial hair for example)
- The possibility to merge your pottermore stats into the game is exactly what I had wished for!
- The movie locations are very well depicted and recognizable, even the kitchens are there, even if they are not in the movies

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Conclusion:

Well, these are my opinions on the game. The graphics are beautiful. Love the little details. But overall, and I dont get why people keep saying it is, it is not so much a game for true HP fans. There is of course the need for a compromise in such a game, to fit the movies more than the books maybe, and to make the story more worthwhile, but they could have used all the useless space around Hogwarts and made Hogwarts a big castle with all the stuff a true HP fan wanted, including Quidditch, late night strolls to find hidden chambers and corridors, etc. Being able to build relationships based on your answering would have been cool to. And the ability to grow your character into a dark, or a light wizard, depending on what you prefer. It is not a bad game, but I cant recommend it to a true HP fan.

If you want to feel AVA nostalgia: Play it.
Otherwise, dont play it. Devs dont fix anything, dont listen to feedback, bugs crashing games, hackers and the like, and nothing really happens.

Funny game, combination of prop hunt and ego shooter, ghost busters style!

The balance needs adjustment imo, as I encounter very advanced players most of the time, so its hard to learn the game together with other noobs.
Lags are also an issue because you can only connect to other players servers, not official ones.

Nevertheless it is fun, and gives you that ghostbusters feeling you know you needed.

Very nice game to relax, beautiful scenery and a good variety of jobs, garages and customizable trucks. Playing online with others is fun too

I saw this game being played by a famous german youtuber and finally bought it yesterday.

It has very nicely detailed maps, lots of stuff to mess around with and a easy yet demanding gameplay.

Funny and diverting game, perfect for a nice after work gaming session or just a quick game to squeeze in your daily schedule.

A completely different type of game. I always loved the Jaws-Movies - with this game you can sort of relive them. I have never seen a game before entering the world of Sharks, therefore I had to buy it.

The game modes are held quite simple. Yet the game is lots of fun, also because you can play on both sides.

As a diver, you always have this eerie feeling of sharks surrounding you, preparing for attack.

As a shark, you are playing a hunter looking for the next kill.

Both teams can be switched, which makes the game very fun for a long time.

The graphics, sounds and the overall atmosphere of this game are awesome. Beautifully detailed underwater worlds and realistic underwater sounds combined with some tension-building sound effects make this game an awesome, whole different experience than every other game you have ever played.

CS:GO Review
Great Physics, but the Community sucks sometimes. Too many raging Players etc. Sometimes great Teamplay though. If you like a tactical Shooter with good Gameplay and nice Gamemodes, I would recommend this.
