This is a super short game, just be warned.

Honestly? I loved it. The color palette intrigued me like it did many people, but it was Love who kept me smiling. Sometimes it can be hard to write a character in a first person point and click because it means no body language, no expressions, no observable interactions, and in some instances characters can come off as too blunt when they comment on what they see or too harsh when they refuse to do something that makes sense in the player's mind. Despite all of that, Love manages to come across as a complex character with interesting and varied opinions and harmless reasons to not do what she is told. She is a very believable yong adult in this adventure; her reactions are spontaneous, awkward, fresh and full of flavour.

The compelling and interesting story feels like it's part of a much bigger narrative and an even wider cast. So many people and places are mentioned that it's not unreasonable to think that this universe could be home to many more games, books, comics or animation.

Fair warning: Blood Nova is very story heavy and, not unike this review, will make you read a fair amount. I bet some will complain about those things, I'm just not one of them.

Bountifully beautiful, deliciously delicate, imaginatively intricate, severely sad.

Yet hopeful. Somehow.

Do yourself a favour and play this charming little game. Animations, transitions, scenery, mood, story, they are all carefully and painstakingly detailed. The art is sublime in this one.

Short and sweet game where no much direction is needed or given. It's quite easy and also beautiful, the last being a quality I've come to expect from Octavi's pixel art.

This is a very relaxing game and not much else. Not that it needs to be, with a few simple elements it is very fulfilling.

Touching.

This game is sad, fragmented, somewhat incomplete and very much a whole experience at the same time. If you like the kind of games with a goal but a totally open way to get to it and no judgement attched to what you do or say in the end, this game is perfect for you.

It sounds like I am being critical, but all of the above are reasons why I liked it. And because it works. Totally worth it.
