This is my new favourite game. Seriously if you’re considering buying this game I can’t recommend it enough. It’s a paradox grand strategy game that’s not just a reskinned version of EU4/CK2. I absolutely love how much detail this game had from launch, I was actually quite surprised. Maybe we’re just used to alpha-game sloppy launches nowadays from game companies but Paradox delivered. I’m 80 hours in and am still learning new things about the mechanics of the game.

Like...

Yesterday, I had run out of adult characters because I stupidly kept forcing them to charge into the front lines when a battle was lost. I then found out that all the war prisoners I had captured became eligible for citizenship after I conquered their territory. ... I know I murdered much of your family and enslaved many of your countrymen but here’s a navy! You’ll be loyal, right!?

Later there were these barbarians invading my lands, but because I was a mad baller I allowed them to settle in my lands as one of the diplomatic options. Hey, free pops are free pops, and these barbar-speaking nerds could be assimilated later on.

I watched Rome have a slave revolt... 300 pops became 300k soldiers and then got absolutely slaughtered by a trained army. The economy in Rome collapsed overnight, from the wealthiest city in the world to basically 30 freeman and citizens, all because they weren’t promoting enough pops quick enough.

It’s not a perfect game biggest complaint is the multiplayer loading time... me and a friend have a game going couple hours a day for the last few weeks, it takes at least 5 minutes to load now.

That and... spoilers, the game ends 18th of February 727 AUC, however that’s easily modded because it’s a paradox game. One int, on one file and BOOM, now I can play for centuries more!

Anyways, like grand strategy games? Buy this one.
