I really don't think they can ever return the game to its launch success. At launch it was a light hearted but serious take on a genre, that was both forgiving and not. It was fun, and challenging, but not serious enough to be a hard grind. They decided since some players wanted everyone to need to be a sweaty tryhard and optimize way to far to meet the meta of the day; that they would re-balance and change things up to eliminate the niche meta. All they did was successfully blend HD2 into the background, destroying what made it unique. It's a PvE game, if people are loving it, leave it the ♥♥♥♥ alone.

My wife still brings up how raucous we were playing it at launch, that does not happen since the big changes. Seeing someone launch it in our friends group no longer causes a surge of launches and a joining up to beat down the opponents of Super Earth. Most of us have uninstalled it, and will likely never return to it no matter what.

Warframe requires a significant investment in time, however it rewards with a varied gameplay, and a surprisingly deep skill curve. Tutorial doesn't hold your hand a lot, so expect to be looking elsewhere for detailed information, or asking other players.

Most of my hours have been in the non-steam client, I play this game a lot...
