It is that type of game where you going through a psychedelic trip while trying to understand what is going on, only this one actually doesn't make you shoot things between spectacle scenes and doesn't take your progress because you didn't run away in time. So if you want to feel fear by playing scary horror - you won't be scared, unless this is your first horror. But if you can accept fear aspect as a tool of art - I recommend to try this game out. It is a truly spectacular interactive art book of a good quality.

This game was made with the sole purpose of wasting your time. At first it seems like a good game: you see a revolutionary gameplay, based on physics that nobody ever tried to do; you see a lot of content, which makes an impression of huge depth; and you see an astonishing player feedback, which is supposed to be a confirmation that all of it JustWorks™.

But the truth is, that everything except lots of content is already put in the previous game of that studio - MudRunner. That game worked fine, was based on a discovery of a correct way to destination, and provided with interesting problems in case of discovery the wrong one. Physics was giving you an impression of driving a huge truck, which was including finding the correct trajectory while balancing your weight to save your truck and your load from flipping. Because of main mission being about transporting load from one point to another, you inevitably driving the same roads a couple of times, but it`s not a problem because of a low task quantity and the correct size of map. On top of that you was able to do that in a cooperative mode, which changed your experience in a good way and required less time to complete the map, and that was perfect because of obvious difficulty in gathering all of your friends in the same time to just play a game consistantly.

Snowrunner on the other hand, is just a bigger, purposeless, unconsistant and unthought expansion of Mudrunner, which addes grind and removes fun. Now you have a ton of trucks, every one of which you need to upgrade. Half of the upgrades you can find on a map by driving to the boxes with random upgrades from a random truck individually, and the other half you can buy after reaching certain level. Level up you can by completing an endless stream of quests which often including stupid activities like time attack and challenges, that nobody asked about. To complete all of that you need to drive back and forth on the same roads, so for "convenience" map now consists from a main roads, which often are asphalt roads and which you use all the time, and the roads that you have to ride once for obtaining an upgrade or sometimes completing a quest, and that roads in slightly more difficult to drive on. That is the type of roads that supposed to provide the core gameplay, but usually it`s just an inconvinience, that encourages you to gather some more upgrades. If you want to roleplay like a sigma and have fun by ignoring upgrades, your instincts and embracing boredom, I have for you good news - physics of a truck was simplified, by restricting your suspencion movement. Roads now also have more simplistic design, so now your gameplay consists only from pathfinding and mud consistency. So if you have a problem, you can solve it by using ropes, which connecting your truck to a nearby tree and move it towards one, or by helping it with the second truck, using the same rope. If talking more simple - process of overcoming mud now is simple, boring and stupid. It is easier and more convenient to just find an upgrade to a truck and drive it easily, like everything else in the game. So now you have 80% of repetitive gameplay that you do while whatching some youtube videos on the second monitor, aka driving main roads, and the other 20% you hate, because it`s interrupting your grind flow - previously core gameplay of the series. And then you have a cooperative mode once again, which provides you with talking, helping your friends and random giggling. The way of playing, that can make every game on earth fun, is the only way to play this game without treating it like a work. On my opinion, it`s the proof that this game is not worth your time, money, and don`t deserve public attention that it receives.

In conclusion, this game has a good concept, which was ruined by expansionism trend of making everything a cashgrab live service rpg, having all the gamedesign mmo restrictions, but not having mmo features, which is the reason of the restrictions in the first place. So you will enjoy it only if you are soulless boring person, which enjoys doing the same thing for 1000 hours ALONE, without even a room to improve you skill. You enjoying trucks, mud, maybe forest, america idk, whatever and you can engage yourself in restricted sandbox - this game is made for you, enjoy. If you are a normal person - try Mudrunner. That`s it.

This game, it`s not even a game. It`s a tech demo of Kylotonn`s new engine iteration with a rushed out gameplay mechanics. As a product - complete disaster with no chance to survive. Every aspect of the game is broken, unthought, made below acceptable state and requires complete rebuilding from the ground up. With the fact that the game doesn`t have any meaningful structure, it`s safe to say that it will be easier to just scrap whatever this is and make a new one instead. What developers is going to do about it? They`re gonna add a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Ibiza. Brilliant. Burn in hell.

This is the simulator of pressing triggers very fast to speedrun it. Kinda interesting gets the idea of that dried ocean, rain on the top with big bugs or whatever it was, but there is no way I will read all this chit-chat between somebody and somebody to figure out what it is. It`s not immersive, it`s confusing and boring. Art design is just ok, any indie dev nowadays can do that set of stylized furniture placed here and there, even optimization of it will be the same. For me all of this seems like just an attempt to sell the game with relax aspect, where you supposed to bond with the nature of sphere shaped and procedurally placed boulders, while breathing the fresh air from your hand-placed ass on a couch. They tried to make a complex system of climbing, then they realized that it is garbage, simplified it, and achieved the Assassin`s Creed tomb gameplay, but worse. Puzzles is also non-existent in this game, only if we don`t count the "Can I grab it?" situation as one. So summarizing all of this flow-of-mind text, it is an empty corridor, and walking it is just a waste of time and too much a waste of a money. If you want to relax, then go take a walk outside, if you want a cool climbing gameplay - go climb your career ladder, if you want to explore and be a part of cool world - play Outer Wilds instead. It`s worth maybe 5 bucks under a sell 5 years later, and only for a research on what it have done wrong, and why the audience thought it deserved overwhelmingly positive reviews on steam. So buy it anyway, because others said it`s good, don`t listen to me. I`m a schizo.

Idk why all the people hate it, I liked jogging between npc's and read dialogue. The overall story and setting is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ (ancient america with magic? wtf is this), but I enjoyed that city mayor questline, for me it was cool. That thing with the red succubus and spirituality which comes after that is weird, but locations is looking more wiby and cool, so why not. Whatever just don`t kill it, it`s always online and I want to play it again someday. Or make it offline, I wasted my money on this after all.
