A quality, lite, sim-style game. Reading through other reviews I can see what has disappointed other owners, repetition, the "grime" system, and micro-management of elevators and such. There are pros/cons to all of that. This game is far from perfect, but, personally, I've thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to spending more time with it. My favorite aspect is how idyllic the game is. I can pause, situate things just so, then resume time. It reminds me of my fish tank sometimes, I fiddle about with it for awhile, then sit back and watch the fish meander around. Typing it out like that, I can see several flaws in the game that I feel like they should address via a DLC. Some kind of weather, catastrophe, hostile takeover, something that you can't control for or predict. I expect that would be configurable to play with or without and have controls for intensity or frequency, but it would add some spice to the mix. Another thing that would be fun via DLC, or maybe in the next iteration of the game, would be something organic in the game itself. Businesses renovating themselves, going from a clothing store to novelty store and having to decide whether to evict them, continue accommodating them, and the positive and adverse affects that might have on neighbors. Continuing that line of thought, with the residentials, having violations from the residents and so on and so forth. I think this game has great bones and could really grow.

With so many ideas, you might think I don't recommend the game... Not true, For $20 full price, it's a good game, it's solid, it's fun. I just think you need to temper your expectations. If this were $40, I would expect a lot more. But for $20, it's a really well polished game, a bit simplistic, and fiddly, but fun, if you are into that kind of stuff.

Wowzers, two chapters in and I adore this game. I am a Fables fan, so that would nearly be enough to please me, and I've enjoyed other Tell Tale games, but this exceeds both of those factors in spades. The writing? Great, entirely up to Fables standards, and unique enough to stand on its own. The visuals? Comic-like, yet fluid and dark and vibrant, and just, wow, it's what I've always envisioned when I though of pulp and noir at the same time. The gameplay? The best I've ever experiences in a Tell Tale game. Everything I loved about the first season of Tell Tale's Walking Dead. only better, if possible! I love this game! My only complaint? I wish I had more time to play it! Now... bed at a reasonable hour... or another episode... hm...
