It's not bad.

Quite bare at this point, since it's just Prologue.
The boss fights are fun though, and you can do well without grinding for upgrades which is very nice.

This game is a lot of automatic battles, and grind. You can get a lot of stuff for free, sure but u can get the same feeling from a lot of mobile games. The reason I'm not recommending this game, is because after I uninstalled it through steam, I had to manually delete the files on my disk, 6 GB!! That's unacceptable for me, where I need all the free space I can get.

Came back to this game after a super long break, and I just need to say this, it's not worth to put your time and effort into this. Almost none visible quality-of-life changes from the devs to make the grinding in the game less mundane is a big minus, the game is out for quite a while now and devs don't care about making the game more enjoyable to play, they care about making more money by making new content, and if the game was polished enough I wouldn't have a problem with that, but it's just not..
The game needs faster speed up to get through the dailies, guild raids and such, the first 300 hours I spent I remember as pretty enjoyable, but lack of changes is heart-breaking. You can still try out this game and these things might not bother you, because you can multi-task, the stages just auto-complete, but I just can't recommend this game even tho I put so many hours into it.

Don't bother if you're not from NA or Asia. Living in EU and 200 ping on Asia server makes the experience pretty bad.

When you start this game, you keep on just phasing through the stages, without really needing to spend any money, you can get 3 stars in the PvE campaing mode fairly easy with the troops you get. But after maybe 20-25 hours, you kind of hit a paywall, or it takes a really long time to gather enough cards to upgrade your troops and progress forward, or at least its much harder to get "3 stars" on each level, which is the thing you'd like to do, since if u get 45 stars on the whole board, you get good amount of cards. And there are just not enough ways to get a lot of cards to upgrade your stuff, there's maybe 4 modes but ultimately they give u not that much cards, and they are limited to doing 1 or 2 times per day depending on the mode.

I heard complains about the PvP mode, and some of it is true, like the gold you get for winning it is really low. The matchmaking is okay-ish, sometimes you get matched with person who has upgraded legendary by 1 level and its almost automatically lost. And that's fine in this type of game, but it's really weird that they haven't implemented a surrender button yet (I heard it's coming though).

This game isn't just worth your time, it might be a bit satisfying at first, but then it becomes this grindy thing, where you aren't even rewarded for it properly. I'm not even sure if PvP is actual PvP, I feel like sometimes I'm playing versus AI, not a human. I'm not sure if the future updates can save this game, they can definietely improve on some of annoying things, but the system just doesn't reward you with enough to constantly upgrade the cards you want to upgrade.
You can give this game a shot, but you're probably gonna quit the game altogether bored or frustrated after some time.

Started playing it yesterday, got me hooked all day! It's like original Puzzle Quest experience over again! Except it's a bit different.
If you played Puzzle Quest and after finishing it you felt like you want to play similiar game, look no further you're most likely gonna like this game. So far I had fun playing without spending anything on the game, which is nice when it comes to F2P titles on Steam.
I recommend turning off the music though and putting some of yours, or you could listen to some podcast while playing. Definitely gonna play this a lot more.

Why did I play this? It's even more frustrating than playing League of Legends. Nice one Steam!
