Jesus christ, I just logged 22 hours into this game and I bought it like 48 hours ago. Last time I played was in middle school, me and my friend would take turns alternating on her Dad's Xbox on the weekeds, pigging out on pizza and slurpees and stuff. I used to have to wait a whole week to see what happens next. This game still holds up 100%. It's a bit glitchy through steam but my experience wasn't nearly in the realm of what I read on here. I bought it on sale, def worth the price.

As much as I find parts of this game I enjoy, I can't recommend it in good conscious. Buy it on sale if you buy, period. There are several unusable mechanics and the story/pacing is weird, long and grating. I keep feeling like I'm on the cusp of something super interesting to happen, but it's always another errand, another side quest, or locked by a technology. Half the time you have no idea what you're doing without an online guide. Even with the 5 hours I've put into this game I still can't sell meat yet. I know I'm a little [redacted] but I've found this is not a unique experience to only me. It's sad to me these problems exist because the characters themselves are pretty interesting. But the grinding of it all loses it's fun pretty quick.

This game has its pros and cons, I'm not going to lie and say it's for everyone, it wasn't really the game for me personally, but I can't not recommend it based on it's pros. It really is a well put together, polished game with an interesting narrative, but it is far too short especially for it's regular price.

-The art style, and cut scenes. It's cute, it's unique, and it's immersive.
-The story, it's different and I appreciate it.
-The humor is endearing.

-It's cute

Cons
-The story, despite it being a good story at it's bare bones I felt the way it was fleshed out made it too predictable, I knew what was going on pretty quick because it was staring me in the face everywhere I turned.
-It's SHORT way too short for the price. I beat it in like, 2 hours and was playing it passively.
-NO PUZZLES
-Once completed and looking into different options and endings, I felt my choices didn't really matter

Possible biases
-I played Fran Bow before this and it's one of my favorite indie games. Perhaps going into Little Misfortune I expected something different.
