It's probably the best battle royale out there in terms of gameplay with the worst servers I've ever seen in a video game.

A fun, challenging and simple platformer that feels satisfying with the movement and still doesn't frustrate the player with its difficulty.

TL;DR
Pros:
  • Lots of replayability, countries feel different from each other.
  • You can play historically or play with crazy things happening like the US becoming communist.
  • Very big science/tech trees with tens of planes, tanks, ships, special infantry etc for every country.
  • Co-op and multiplayer is very fun and makes the game twice as fun in my opinion, since players are mostly smarter than the AI and are more interesting to play with/against.
  • Strategic things are taken into account in combat; logistics, aerial superiority, terrain and the likes.

Cons:
  • Game gets VERY laggy in mid-late game when countries have huge armies moving everywhere
  • Only real way to play is conquer everyone
  • Different countries' vehicles and tanks etc. have few if any differences.
  • Techs trees and the like are similar with most countries (Form alliance with these countries, or get reasons to wage war against them, every country has closely the same Infantry/Air/Navy tech)
  • AI isn't very intelligent
  • Peace negotiating is very poor
  • DLCs contain things that should be in the base game (though you can download mods to get these features for free)

Hearts of Iron IV a great strategy game. You can play as any country basically in the WW2 era and the differences between countries is tremendous. Every country has a unique tech tree (although most have the same type of setup). It's interesting how there's 3 main factions battling each other most of the time (Allies, Axis, Comintern) and you can choose to be any one of the 3 political stances, Democratic, Fascist, Communist or then neutral if you want to avoid getting attacked by huge alliances.
Co-Op/multiplayer I found to be super fun and I'd say the game is way better if you have someone else to play with (at least for a few playthroughs), you can forge very powerful alliances or get a big friend group to play against each other.
The game basically revolves around war though and it's not really possible to play peacefully or defensively, it's just not fun whatsoever. The combat system might be underwhelming for some since it's just a bubble showing whether your troops are winning or the enemy. Your combat effectiveness is decided by logistics, terrain, support from air forces and of course how advanced your troops and weaponry are.
You can play the game from 1936 where the game will not follow history mostly and there can be some very interesting alliances and events, or you can start from 1939 if you want a more historically accurate game. If you play with Germany vs playing with a small South-American country you're going to have vast differences in gameplay, so you can choose how you want to play the game. Some want to start with huge amounts of factories and manpower and be able to take over countries instantly and some want to fight against all odds with a less influential country.
You have to take into account land, air and often sea to gain an upper hand on your opponents. You need to have fighters/anti-air to counter your opponent's airforce, bombers to help your infantry gain an upper hand, infantry obviously to capture areas and cause the heavy casualties, and ships to block off the enemy's supply convoys, foreign aid, destroy carriers and whatnot.

In the late game though the game becomes almost unplayable. The lag becomes so bad that it doesn't matter whether you're playing on the fastest time setting or the slowest because they both go at the same speed. Peace is in my opinion done very poorly. You'd think that the 2 major things in the game are war and peace but even starting a peace negotiation is impossible 90% of the time. The AI is definitely not as smart as you'd hope in a game all about strategy and how intelligently you play your country.
Most of the tech tree is the same with all countries but even the ones that have differences like the models of your tanks, the vehicles still have largely the same stats as other countries (eg. Russian tanks having the same stats as US ones).
Overall if you can get the game on a discount I think it's worth it but the game has a lot of things it could improve on. (Hopefully things that are going to get improved later on and not with 20€+ DLCs.)

A fantastic Terraria-esque "survival", exploration, sandbox building game where you fly and upgrade your space-ship while exploring all kinds of different randomly generated planets with incredible amounts of guns, items and things to find.

I've been waiting for this sequel for over 10 years, and it's everything I could have hoped for. N++ is a brilliant, unique style of platformer that has sometimes rage-inducing, sometimes epic moments. The game is easy to learn, has very simple and satisfying controls, (left and right movement keys and a jump button which you can hold down for a lengthier leap) but is still challenging as a proper platformer should be. The basic premise of the game is to complete levels, by going through doors while collecting gold to increase your points. There are 5 levels in one group and completing them will unlock you the next set of levels. Pretty simple, right?

In later stages you will have to manipulate the map perfectly to get that slight boost in your jump, weave through tight areas to evade a missile on your tail, or use a ramp to break an otherwise fatal fall. The gold littered around each level is a neat feature which adds a bit of a gamble into the game. Do you go the route brimming with gold, but also traps, or do you take the easier route and try and finish as quickly and surely as possible...

Multiplayer and interaction with the rest of the community is now bigger. There is a leaderboard which competitive players will like, and adds to the reward of finishing a level perfectly. If you have a friend along for the ride, you can either play with, or against each other. Co-op will have you working together, sometimes sacrificing yourself so that your buddy can finish the level. The Race mode on the other hand adds a tense competition between who can finish the level with the most points, and will have you shouting as you near the door to your victory.

Sometimes you will ragequit a level and come back to it later to finish it with that sweet taste of revenge. Veteran players will recognise some of the classic hazards, redefined, and a whole load of new threats are also introduced, like ghosts of yourself running around, detonating you into a million pieces if they touch you. Laser turrets, mines, drones, and electric blocks are just some of the other obstacles you will face.

The levels are now brightly colored and you can change the music and color palette to your liking. It's a nice change to the constant gray of the previous games. The animations and textures of everything are also more pleasant and sharp. The new level editor has improved by miles. It's more intuitive, much easier to use and enables better made community levels, which there are tons of.
I highly recommend N++ if you liked the older versions and ESPECIALLY if you've never played an N game.
4.5/5

EDIT: The devs just added a big update with 95 new levels and a new, harder game mode, Ultimate, after the game is released. The developers clearly care about their fanbase and new content is getting added so this game is definitely worth supporting.

This is a very short game. I finished it in 15 minutes, 20 with all the achievements. You jump from one small rectangular platform to the next, and press a red button which makes new platforms rise from the water. You do that for 15 minutes and that's the game. If the music had been any better, it might have made the experience more relaxing/fun, but I just found myself lowering the volume almost to mute because it was so repetitive and obnoxious, not like a nice calm BGM. I did not feel like I was having fun whilst playing, but rather that I was just moving forward.
The movement felt nice though and if there were something more to the game which utilized that, I might change my review.
The game is extremely cheap (I bought it for 1.50€) so if you have some extra wallet cash it's better than buying once case in Counter Strike.
The good thing about the game being so short is that you can refund it right after you finish it.

Early Access Review
A fun and gory FPS game with a wave-based survival system. Survive the rounds of different creatures coming for you and you're faced up with the final boss, the mad scientist who started it all. It's still in Early-Access, but it already has many weapons and classes for you to play. As it nears full release, they will add tons of other weapons, maps and maybe even other bosses. Really worth the 27€ it costs as it is as good as most AAA games.
