Rest well Helldivers, but not for long. The bots and bugs are still threats to our beloved Super Earth and very way of life.

One of the best games of its kind. But also one of the worst due to pure greed. They know the recent changes they put in were wrong, and have been pushing changes like this for a long time now but this one overstepped too much. They even asked the community to let it slide and not negatively review the game for it. Can see how well that turned out.

Overall, yet another great game, obliterated by publisher greed and such a heavy dose of grind you may as well make it your full time job to progress.

And isn't disconnecting you.
Or erasing your missions.
Or disconnecting you again.
Or failing to turn in missions.
Or annihilating your framerate.
Or bugging out and blinding you with extreme brightness.

This had a lot of promise and the alpha was looking pretty good, and then it actually released and it was worse than the alpha in every way and feels like a straight up downgrade to Horizons. From the new horrible menu that was "streamlined for less clutter" or something, to the downgrade in planet gen tech and lighting engine changes. I don't recommend getting it yet, as it needs a lot of work.

I'll come back to this review later and add on/change it if things do improve, but for now. Do not buy. It is in a nearly unplayable state.

Adding this in addition to my previous review. Lightfall was not great, and the ramped up monetization of the game was a major killer for me. Event passes for previously free events. Dungeon keys for previously free dungeons each expansion. Season passes being bumped from 10 dollars to 15. The lack of Eververse items for bright dust and everything being silver bundle only.
It sucks. The game is not playable for me anymore because it is paywall this, paywall that. Not to mention the awful rushed feeling story of Lightfall and various things that just feel way out of place.

The gameplay remains fun, until its too fun and Bungie steps in to remove the fun as they did with Strand's grapple ability.
The game itself, is an absolute nightmare grindfest slog full of paywalls. I cannot recommend Destiny 2 to anyone still and highly advise if you don't have the seasonal stuff, you just stop playing the game. Its not worth the value, and you are so extremely limited to what you can do if you don't shell out cash for season passes.

Forsaken? Great. Shadowkeep? Pretty alright. Even Warmind, Osiris, and Red War were alright. But when Beyond Light dropped, it took the majority of content that made the game worth playing, and chucked it into the "Destiny Content Vault". Most of the raids, almost all the activities outside of Strikes Crucible and Gambit, which got some very... Bad changes. Majority of loot is now gone, armors, weapons, its all got a timer till it becomes useless. And there was absolutely no reason for it when they re-issue the same exact stuff, down to the perk rolls.

Beyond Light itself? It was okay. It had some fun missions, and a great worldspace and new raid. But it does not make up for the sheer volume of content and activities that were ripped from the game to make way for it. The game is in a very bad state right now and there is very little to do except bounties and PvP, unless you like the same 5 strikes over and over.

Honestly its a shame to see what happened to a fun game because a certain lead game director was an idiot.

Had my eye on this game for a while, seemed fun overall. Ended up getting it on the sale and it is easily one of the best games I've purchased in a long while. The story is silly, writing and voice acting is amazing and goofy at time, and the gameplay flow is unbelievably smooth.

If you want a fun, enjoyable game with lots to explore and collect, I highly recommend this. It also has a solid soundtrack as well.

Play on halloween, get fox outfit. Flail though the various bosses with confetti bullets and guns.
