It pains me to do this but I have to.
If you're not already playing destiny in 2023, don't.
The game is a complete mess.
The latest expansion could have literally been it's opening and closing cutscenes and nothing would have changed. Literal filler expansion.
A third of the game (more like half at the time) was ripped out because "oooh we just can't maintain all this legacy content" yet every other mmo does.
Every patch breaks more than it fixes and downtimes have ballooned while the micro transactions become ever more overbearing.

So today 2K pushed an update to at least 2 of their games (probably more) that replaced the old launchers with their new ♥♥♥♥♥♥ one with a storefront. I assume this was to try to get around giving valve/whoever else their cut, and in the process of doing so, broke many many peoples mods and playthroughs.

Overall the core gameplay is very solid, with a variety of playstyles with different nations, coalitions and deck types.

AI is basically worthless as practice for playing against real players, but decent enough for the campaigns.

DLC nations tend to be very strong in some areas but then have critical weaknesses in others. (Notably the complete lack of anti radiation missiles for all DLC
except Israel.)

Visuals are of middling quality but you're usually not looking super close.

Naval, the party piece of RD vs ALB, is not worth touching at all. Air combat as compared to ALB is less rough around the edges.

Very fun if and only if you have friends to play it with, the general community is very insular (and somewhat toxic) and the global chat is usually a mix of neo-nazis, tankies and people attempting to troll the aforementioned groups.

My favorite game; do not recommend.

Very fun, especially with a friend or three.

Will simultaneously run into people who are undergeared and complain the game is way too hard and people who complain that world isn't as hard (read: isn't as janky) as old titles in the series.

Gameplay is pretty good, the FFB issues are mostly gone.
But cmon, selling the rallies from the first game (albiet revamped) for the same price as the first game again is just ridiculous.

A little rough around the edges, but definetly a sign that there are good things to come from Goldhawk.

Only took 149 updates and 4 years to fix desync, but it's all good now.
