Nodebuster is a delightful, bite-sized incremental game that perfectly blends resource management and skill tree progression. As an incremental game, it offers satisfying growth and upgrades, making every step feel rewarding. The music is nice and adds to the relaxing gameplay experience. While it’s very short, the experience feels fair for the price tag. Highly recommended for fans of experimental indie games.

Universe Horizon is a short yet enjoyable incremental game where your goal is to traverse the vastness of space and reach the far edge of the observable universe. While the task sounds daunting, the journey is made engaging as you unlock new mechanics by reaching planets and astronomical objects, allowing you to progress faster over time.

I found the experience rewarding, especially with the offline resource generation that ensures progress even when not actively playing. However, the game is relatively short—I reached the end after about 3 hours of active play. Despite its brevity, the mechanics and pacing kept me entertained throughout.

If you enjoy space-themed games and incremental progression, Universe Horizon is worth a try!

Journey to Incrementalia is a refreshing take on the incremental game genre, blending elements of auto-battlers with a light narrative that ties its mechanics together. While it's not a particularly long game, it offers a satisfying experience thanks to its unique mechanics and thoughtful design.

One standout feature is the ability to cast spells and actively assist your minions during battles, adding a layer of strategy not commonly found in traditional incremental games. Additionally, the game allows you to reset your skill choices at any time, without penalties. This flexibility encourages experimentation and lets you adapt your strategy to meet the challenges presented.

It's worth noting that the game doesn't include features like multi-tiered prestige systems, which are often a hallmark of the genre. However, its engaging mechanics and approachable length make it a solid choice for fans looking for something fresh. Overall, Journey to Incrementalia delivers an enjoyable, albeit brief, experience with its clever mechanics and fun gameplay.

Frostpunk 2 Review: A Shift in Scale, But a Loss of Heart

Frostpunk 2 is a solid game for fans of city-building and survival strategy. However, it's not Frostpunk. The soul of the original feels absent here. By shifting its perspective to a much larger scale, it has lost much of its unique identity. In the first game, every decision weighed heavily; the struggle for survival was intimate and deeply personal. In contrast, Frostpunk 2 places more focus on politics and the "big picture," making individual lives feel like mere numbers in a broader system.

Losing a few people is no longer a tragedy—it's just part of the game. This detachment significantly dulls the emotional impact that defined the original. If you're expecting the same tight, pressure-filled gameplay and emotional depth as the first Frostpunk, you'll likely be disappointed.

That said, Frostpunk 2 isn't a bad game. It simply isn't what I expected or wanted from a Frostpunk sequel. While it introduces interesting new elements, the shift in focus leaves something essential behind.

Factorio on PC: A Masterclass in Automation and Creativity

Factorio is a gem in the world of PC gaming that masterfully combines automation, creativity, and sandbox-style gameplay into an endlessly engaging experience. From the moment you step into its vast, procedurally-generated world, Factorio offers a unique and rewarding journey of designing, building, and optimizing complex industrial systems.

Automation at Its Finest

The core of Factorio lies in its deep and intricate automation mechanics. As a player, you’re tasked with constructing and managing elaborate factories, where you’ll need to automate the production of countless items, from basic resources to advanced technological components. The joy of Factorio comes from watching your meticulously designed systems come to life, transforming raw materials into finished products with incredible efficiency. The satisfaction of solving logistical challenges and optimizing production lines cannot be overstated.

Unleash Your Creativity

Factorio’s sandbox nature allows for unparalleled creative freedom. Whether you’re a meticulous planner who loves to design symmetrical and efficient layouts or a chaotic inventor who enjoys experimenting with unconventional setups, Factorio caters to all styles of play. The game encourages you to think outside the box, continuously pushing you to refine and improve your designs. Every factory is a canvas, and the only limit is your imagination.

Endless Activities and Goals

One of Factorio’s greatest strengths is that there’s always something to do. From the initial stages of gathering resources and setting up basic automation to the late-game challenges of optimizing massive factory complexes and launching rockets, the game ensures that players are never without a goal. The progression feels natural and rewarding, with each milestone achieved bringing new tools and challenges. The dynamic environment, including dealing with alien creatures and managing pollution, adds another layer of depth and keeps the gameplay fresh and engaging.

Collaborative and Solo Play

Factorio shines in both solo and multiplayer modes. When playing alone, you can enjoy the meditative experience of slowly building up your factory and perfecting your designs at your own pace. In multiplayer, the game transforms into a collaborative effort where players can divide tasks, share responsibilities, and create even more complex and efficient systems together. The cooperative aspect adds a social dimension to the intricate mechanics, making Factorio a fantastic game to play with friends.

Conclusion

Factorio is more than just a game; it’s a playground for engineers, designers, and problem-solvers. Its perfect blend of automation, creativity, and continuous engagement makes it an essential title for any PC gamer. Whether you’re drawn to the meticulous planning and optimization or the sheer joy of creation, Factorio offers an experience that is as challenging as it is rewarding. Its refreshing to see a quality game like this come out in 2022, a year of sandbox games and what not. Here we have a pure single player story focused strategy game. It reminds me of games from the 90's like Reunion or Imperium Galactica or more recently Frostpunk but in space.

It has its defects like suffering from balancing/pacing issues but overall its an awesome game if you are in to space and strategy tough games. The devs are very active and patching the game to deal with this issues.

Update as of November 2023: with the recent patches the balance is much improved and there is even difficulty options available to ease the experience.

Also story and soundtrack are very nice.

This one is one of those special games that are more of an interactive experience than a game itself, and in this case it works very well.

The story follows this character Maria in her search to find her place in life. So she decides to go and explore the world. On such a trip she finds this nice village where she meets some families that need her help fixing things.

Those things are very personal to all of them and that is the charm of it. Through these interactions you start to know a bit of each family, their joys, struggles and life experiences. Along the way Maria reflects also on her human condition by taking those experiences to heart. This is the games premise and it is very well executed.

The game is fully voiced and the performance is very good. Art style makes me remember hand drawn pictures and the puzzles themselves are very relaxed and non complicated. This game is meant to be enjoyed at your own pace and just have a good time.

The only downside for me is that it is very short, I felt that other stories could have been told. I was left wanting more of Maria's adventures.

Overall a very sweet game. Recommended!

I have been playing this game on and off for some time now.

This one is for those who like renovation and decoration of all kind of houses. From abandoned, to filthy, on sale, etc.
Its a game to relax and take your own time with. There are no enemies, no guns, no timers. You can take has long has you want to finish the jobs/house renovations.

You are the owner of a house renovation business where you take on contractor jobs. has you gain money you can then invest on some lower priced houses for sale on the market to restore your own way. You can then put it up for sale where a bunch of interested buyers will bid for it based on the type of renovation you did and their likes. There are many houses to buy and renovate and contractor jobs to do so expect many hours worse your money.

There's a light RPG element to it where you gain skill points along the way to unlock more tools and perks that make your life easier or open up new things to do in game.

It will not be for all since its really a niche game in this sense but for me its one I recommend since I always come back to it when I need that dose of zen.

What an interesting game this is.

It is very emotional in the sense that topics like loneliness, hope, and despair will be presented to you at regular intervals. It makes you think and ponder about such things but in a positive way...at least I did.

It will not be a game for everyone, I believe it to be very niche game. Almost everything in the game requires time, and I mean real time hours/days for things to start developing. But if you allow yourself to get to that point you will find a great game to sink your time in to.

Exploration, crafting, puzzles and a good story will be there for you

Stardew Valley is a farming/RPG.

I can honestly say that at the time of this writing there is no other game of this genre that can match it in terms of fun/quality/price.

If you are a fan of this genre and like old style pixel graphics you can not go wrong with this game.
