This is the perfect conclusion for one of the most beautiful epic sagas ever.

The amount of choices and consequences is amazing, and the stakes are even higher. The last stretch is some of the most stressful and dramatic i've ever experienced. The stategic battles are even more addictive with some new enemies and the concept of "reinforcements" (after the battle is over, when can keep up against new enemies for extra rewards, but we can also replace our troops).

Thanks Stoic for the unforgettable experience.

This is one of the best beat em ups ever made. For 2€. If you never played this, don't bother paying more for something new such as Shredder's Revenge because this is so much better.

This DLC only includes de Japanese ROM, but it's not like anyone plays these games for the story. The JP rom is less hard, and actually more pleasant to play.

This is the kind of shoot-em-up that invokes every possible positive nostalgic feeling, without being like any game that I played before. It looks and sounds like an Amiga game on steroids. But it plays nothing like an Amiga game. This is fast, very fast. Bullets are fast, and agressive play is encouraged. The closest comparision I can find is later Toaplan games like Batsugun.

But the game is quite approachable, and finishing, or even 1CC'ing the main game mode isn't too hard, but there are unlocks, including a longer version of the game with a "True Final Boss".

The soundtrack is absolutely unbelievable, and like everything else in this game, it recalls the Amiga days, specially the Demo Scene intros. This is a game that I can see me play for a very long time every now and then just to feel good.

This is the perfect sequel to a 1992 Neo Geo game that we didn't know we needed.

This is the kind of old school hori-shmup that does everything right design wise. The level design is impeccable and varied, the difficulty curve is smooth as butter, and the boss fights are all very fun. Unlike the first game, the difficulty is very fair, and with 3 difficulty levels and loads of credits, there are challenges for every kind of player.

The cherry on top of the cake is an Allister Brimble soundtrack, who manages to me even better than most of the masterpieces that he did back in the day. It's absolutely banging, and one of the best I've listened in a long while.

The biggest downside of the game is the lack of online leaderboards, which is a big disappointment in a game like this. Also, the graphical options are quite limited. Either play it on an expanded window, or play it full screen with shimmering and image desyncs, because activating v-sync makes the input lag noticeable. There should be a way to force integer scaling on full screen. There aren't either graphical filters for people who may care.

Even with this lack of care on small details, it's my favourite shmup in a long while. I even ordered the 3DS version.

This is absolute arcade perfection. The tight gameplay, the gorgeous bright graphics, the fist pumping epic gameplay. This game has it all. The score mechanics are simple but effective, and it's incredible just that feeling of getting better and better and climbing through the leaderboards, as it should be.

Loads of arcade classics for reasonable prices. These games can be played in Retroarch and such, but having online leaderboards or extra challenges makes this an attractive deal. Some games like Progear or Armored Warriors are absolute top tier in their genres, and still better than today's 60€ AAA games.

Emulation is good, and input lag is low (as long as v-sync is off)

This is a great buy for anyone who has fond memories of Heretic and Hexen. The level design is a mix of the two games, with some metroidvania elements thrown in (in the form of transformations).

The game fixes the biggest problem of Heretic, the spongy enemies, and the obscure solitions to Hexen puzzles.

On the downside, the game still looks amateurish compared to those two (it's a very indie game compared to the state of the art of the early 90s), and the enemies death animations and our weapons projectiles don't feel as they pack as much power as they should.

Still, it's very much recommended, specially for the price. I still like Heretic better, but it's a tough act to equal.

This is the best Zen designed table in a long while (probably since DOOM). I love the simple, no gimmicky rules, and the great flow. The theme is great (who doesn't love the Peanuts??), and while it looks simple enough, it's very challenging, and could almost pass for a real table.

I was a bit annoyed, as with most people, when Zen announced PFX, when PFX3 was completely fine.

And then I got more annoyed when PFX looked worse and performed worse than PFX3 and Zen didn't allow to import the old tables.

While I'm still annoyed by Zen's stinginess, by now PFX is much superior to FX3, and the best pinball experience available. It's performing great on my 7 year old computer, looks much better than FX3 with more natural lighting.

The overall atmosphere is also much better. Gone are the Windows 8-like menus of FX3. Now we get a smooth music and a nice room to decorate with trophies and such.

This is a shmup modernization done right. It's hard to move the genre forward without compromising the purity of the experience. This game offers a traditional Arcade mode which is very good, and a story mode with some light RPG elements, but without overburdening the core mechanics. Weapon loadouts and buying new weapons before each mission for example.

Another great innovation is the bullet trails and enemy formation warnings. This reduces the "trial and error" aspect of many horizontal shmups like R-Type and Gradius.

Only downside is that the art style feels a bit generic. I'd rather have a well drawn pixel art game.
