Cool concept, cool storytelling, maybe needed a bit more hanging out time for the ending to land

Lot of fun personalities, many surprises in characterization, avoids strict stereotypes for the most part. A couple moments were really funny, most just very charming and heartwarming. Enjoyed the father-daughter relationship being the central pole to return to.

Had to watch a tutorial to get my first steps, but from there I was able to ride it out and go pretty deep. Very fun to puzzle out and problem-solve, even if traffic is traffic.

This game gives you lots to think about. For me, playing it was a bit tedious, as some sections were pretty much just crouch and wait avoidance scenes, and I think Amnesia was done better for actual scares. The scariest part by far was when they cut way back on the number of threats around and played with expectations, creating horror and dread rather than guards on patrol. But it was worth the tedium for the existential crises and rich storytelling-via-environment and notes left behind. This was a really inspired post-apocalypse with a satisfying arc and a consistently engaging thread of moral questioning.

This was a short and thought-provoking game worth checking out. It ended a bit quickly for its own good, and some of the writing crossed the line from on-the-nose to smashing-me-in-the-face, but it mostly kept me guessing at the underlying mysteries and player actions did seem to carry weight. The way events unfold in this gameplay was very unique and imo worth checking out.

Given the premise, I did not expect this game to be as tense as it was! Genuinely heart-racing at times, no doubt helped by the rich characterization of the main actors. I love the narrative arc of the game. The conclusion really ties the whole experience together in a way that adds to the lessons Hank learns (or doesn't). Tons of subtlety in the storytelling through strong sense of place and environmental cues. Some questions remained unanswered for me by the end, but I've learned from others that the answers can be found or inferred with more careful investigating, so this also still works for me. Besides, no good story should make it easy for you.

♥♥♥♥♥♥-up and unexpectedly successful satire. If you can get through the first 45 minutes it's worth it to see it to the end.
