This game scratches a particular itch I can't even describe.

Every shot, every kill, every level, music track makes my brain happy.

A genuine masterpiece. If you even remotely like FPS games, especially twitchy fps games, you need to play this one.

For the 15-20 hours I have played this is the best feeling ARPG besides PoE1. Bosses don't feel like a face tank and actually have some grit to them which is nice, one thing I will say is that it is NOT PoE1, def feels like a more methodical game than zoom zoom aura go brrr

EDIT 1:
I do still enjoy this game, but I've decided to let them cook more before I bother with cruel/endgame.

The game itself has a great foundation. But this feels like a 1 step forward, 2 steps back approach to things that PoE1 has kind of already solved.

Trials in the game to gain ascendancy points really, really need tuning or just have lab brought back. They took two of the worst league mechanics and forced them to be trials. I know lab was mindless and boring but the trials are poorly designed and the trial of chaos bosses are literally some of the worst fights i've ever had in PoE.

I am still iffy on the skill gems and support gems system. Part of me wants the old system back and part of me doesnt. I'll get used to it probably but it's good for what it is i guess.

I enjoy that the game does not require extensive reading/learning right off the bat, while I enjoyed the complexity of PoE1, this is much more acceptable and people I've talked to who weren't fans of 1 are loving this game.

Mobs need major tuning to match our movement or we need move skills back. Monk it's been okay but mobs feel way too fast. Rare/magic mobs you cant really know they are one unless they have VFX, not a fan of this change because its hard to determine which mob is a threat sometimes like this.

Gold respecs are nice, no more bartering. I miss some aspects of this system but all in all better feeling with gold

The boss fights are pretty good but very frustrating when you can get oneshot despite defences. I get they wanted to make it punishing but I don't think oneshots are all that fun.

next edit when i get to cruel/maps

I went in expecting to refund it since I don't usually play these types of games, and I've never been that much of a fan of card games. But this game, oh my god, I can't put it down. It is perfect as a game on the steam deck, and is perfect as a pick up and play game for the PC. I hope they port it to mobile at some point, I will gladly buy it for Android.

Ace Combat 🤝 Armored Core

+ Having a 6th entry in the series with a subtitle that starts with "Fires of.."
+ Having a dude call you 'Buddy'

Anyway if you like big robots/mechas this is your game.

I won't lie, I've hated this game in the past. I was a D3 player (yes laugh idc) I thought it didn't feel great and the tree was too complex and I didn't care. Multiple times over the years, something wasn't clicking with me.

Flash forward to a week before Diablo IV S1, and I give it a shot again with my original non-league character. I didn't bother with a guide, I played PoE off and on during D4 S1 just to see what all the fuss was all about. As I was playing I kept getting more and more hooked, every time I played I just learned there was something else and it was this repeated loop of excitement I haven't really felt in a bit in games.

A bit into D4 S1, I hit 65 and realized I was tired of running NM Dungeons with zero loot worth picking up, and played the aforementioned character until Ancestral league launched. I decided to play without a guide again, and started the league trying to make my first character better. To my surprise, I did it. I didn't really look up anything until I got to the Act 10, and by the end of Act 10 into Maps I realized my build was trash and (somewhat, im very stubborn) followed a build guide to learn more.

There is just so much in this game to sink your teeth into. Being able to spec into what mechanic you want to farm is so so good. Having multiple endgame mechanics to change up your farming is just so so nice. Farming currency/items is so satisfying. Leveling is satisfying. The game itself is, satisfying. I even don't mind restarting a build because I've ruined it, or the fact respec points are pretty low to start out, but even then, you can just farm for those. Also skill variety is just the chef's kiss.

For a free to play game that has a campaign that lasts 10 acts, I spent at least 100hrs before I bought any stash tabs. At that point I felt like what money I spent on them was completely worth it. It really is as good as they say it is.

Not to say the game doesn't have its issues, I think the game could explain things WAY better than it does. I'm not asking them to hide most of the tree until a certain level or make the game simpler, but there are so many things I've found out by word of mouth, which, unfortunately, makes it harder to go in blind. Deaths in the game are also not super clear, yes, there are times where it is my fault and i played badly. And then there are other times where I'm not sure what the hell actually just happened. I'm sure I'll grasp it eventually, but if there is anything I will complain about, its those two.

Give it a shot, I do think until Act 3 the game is a bit of a slog, but once you get to that act the game picks up and gets way better from there. If you are going to not follow a build guide, you may hit a wall, but I want to note that it is possible to get to "Earlygame" without knowing much. If you have already played multiple ARPGs before hand, it will definitely be easier to grasp. But be warned, you still have much to learn, tho if you enjoy building out your character or learning mechanics, that shouldn't be much of an issue either.

Looking forward to PoE2 :3
... Also looking forward to getting out of the tutorial soon, only 1k-10k more hours or so.

PS look at Zizaran's guides on youtube. you will need them.
PSS also get Path of Building Community Fork. you will need that also.

I waited 12+ years for a proper sequel to A Crack in Time (yes i know the other games came out but tbh they didn't do much for me) for it only to come out for the PS5. Unfortunately, I wasn't getting a new console for just one game.

Now, two years later I'm playing it on the PC. While surreal, I am super glad they ported this series to a different platform, and the game was totally worth the wait.

The port by Nixxes ran very nice for me. I had a few hitches in the dimensional portal scenes, and one crash in a total of 12hrs of playtime. I do understand that some people are having issues and that does suck & does not disqualify their experiences, however, It is not even close to how bad TLOU Pt.1's port was.

It's another Insomniac banger, and if you've played any of their games you already know whats up. I beat the game in 12 hrs on the 2nd to last difficulty grabbing whatever side content/collectibles I could before the story captivated me. As is tradition, there is a NG+ mode (haven't touched yet) and I look forward to trying it. I'll probably update the review at that point, but the games are always repayable due to their collect-a-thon nature, that and being so damn fun you have a dumb ear-to-ear smile for all of the playtime.

If you enjoyed the Ratchet and Clank games in the past, its way more of that + the dimensional gimmick which is really well done and very neat tech wise. I love the new movement features and Rivet is a very good addition to the cast. I hope she stays relevant in the story in the future. Game feels super good to play as well, weapons are great as always. The writing is still funny and enjoyable. It's just a good time, and I highly recommend it, even at full price.

Lastly, I would like to direct a message to Sony/PS Studios/Insomniac Games:
PLEASE PORT THE OTHER AND OLDER R&C GAMES PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE IPELASE PLs I WILL PAY $70
