Unpolished RPG questvomit. Laborious and linear. I'm glad I got it for free with a video card; I wouldn't want to spend $60 on this.

Edit: After over 30 hours of playing this game it has yet to crash. The negative reviews are clearly misleading.


I've just finished the "intro dungeon" (thankfully it didn't bring back Irenicus' dungeon PTSD), and I'm really enjoying the hell outta this game. The voice acting is really engaging so far, and I'm intrigued by the plot. I haven't read any spoilers beyond the initial concept that the leader of the crusade is a Bhaalspawn.

I made a shaman and played for an hour, but really didn't take to it. Not a big deal. Now progressing as a mage, although I was really tempted by a throwback to my first BG character in the 90s - dwarf warrior. I love a good battle axe.

One of the best parts of this expansion that I've noticed is the party AI. I'm still so used to pausing and issuing orders, but when I sit back and watch my party kick some ass on their own, or take care of casting Stoneskin after waking from sleep, I smile and use that time to wisely quaff a potion.

This expansion is rad, and you should absolutely pick it up. If you had a folio of six discs for a decade, you'll enjoy this game too.
