A delightful little game, the controls aren't my favorite style but certainly not a deal breaker. Well worth the scratch!

Your physical attack is a chainsaw leg that zips out along the ground, splattering your foes gloriously. What else do you want?

Its an interesting concept, and I actually quite like it, but the devs greed putting out a "deluxe" edition and not giving it to people who already own the now incomplete version is just a giant middle finger covered in ♥♥♥♥ and shoved right up our nostrils. Oh, and considering how well it did on initial release, I'm not buying that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that you need the money. You all are just greedy.

Alright, the story part is fine enough, but the real reason to own this one is the "Arcade" mode, which is user made maps, some of which are utterly fantastic! Pick it up on sale for that alone!

If you are still on the fence at this point, you might as well just get it. I had fun with it, so there ya go.

Boneworks is the kind of VR game I dreamed about as a wee lad. The mechanics are simple and satisfying (mostly), and while the story is kind of a non-presence for the most part, the act of shooting a bunch of null men and whatnot more than makes up for it.

I have my quibbles of course. The climbing can be a massive pain in the arse, your hands sure do like doing weird contortions, and the final level is utter ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, especially the final "boss," but any annoyance fades when the combat picks back up, and the sandbox mode is one of my favorite ways to unwind. If you have an HMD you would be doing yourself a disservice by skipping this one, just try not to smack yourself in the HMD when one of those headcrab analogs jumps on your face!

While I'm only a little ways in, this feels like what a Star Wars Game should be. It reminds me (and apparently most of the internet) of the Jedi Knight games, the high watermark for Star Wars gaming to my mind, but with enough modern things thrown in to keep them interesting. There are things I don't like (since when do Storm Troopers have good aim, and why are they so attached to their limbs?) but it gets so much right that I can't complain. I also can't get enough BD-1. Between him and Baby Yoda, cute SW things seem to be taking over. Since I'm only a bit in, I can't give a proper review. but I'll edit this when I finish the game. So far though, highly recommended!
