Early Access Review
I'm torn on this. The game feels more like a proof of concept in its current state and lacks enough content to justify the $55 price tag. The visuals and accompanying performance of the game are impressive, even when cranking the settings to the highest. The moment to moment gameplay can be fun and challenging, but the gameplay loop itself is quite boring and grindy to unlock more weapons, weapon upgrades and items.
For now, I'd recommend waiting until the full release of the game.

Fun, short and simple clicker game. The concept is quite unique as far as clickers go and the game can be 100% completed in under 2 hours.

After spending hundreds of hours on the game, it's really come down to having a neutral opinion on the game. I feel that people from the US and EU are in the best position to play this game, as they can access low ping servers with little to no cheaters in their games. However for players from Asia, you will have nothing short of a painful experience when trying to engage in any of the competitive game modes.
As a player from Australia, this issue is further exacerbated, as many of the game modes outside of the most casual of modes are not populated enough to find a game. The only options for ranked gameplay are playing Asia with cheaters, or NA with higher ping.
It's a shame that the game isn't more popular, but this can be weighed down to Embark and their slow approach to balancing the game. The community will cry out for changes to be made to overpowered weapons and gadgets in the existing meta, however Embark is always 1-2 months behind the mark with making these balance changes. This leads to people losing trust in Embark and therefore leaving the game. I feel that Embark needs to be more proactive with balancing, however they have recently expressed intentions to cut back on game balance patches.

There's not really any reason why Samawa Idle should be a paid game. There are countless other idle and incremental games out there that are free and offer much, much more content. If you play Samawa Idle for just a few hours, you've more or less seen all the content the game has to offer. It's a shame, because the concept is neat, but the game is so minimalist, it's difficult to even recommend this as being worth your time if it were free.

Excellent game. The atmosphere, graphics and sound design are phenomenal.
Day 1 of the game was rough with stuttering issues, but the developers have since issued a patch which largely remedies this. There's still the occasional FPS drop, but nothing that really takes away from the experience.

I've since finished the game in just shy of 9 hours of play time.
The game held up well the entire way through, and was kept fresh with plot twists and well placed jump scares. Despite what a lot of the reviews say about the combat, I personally enjoyed it, even if it wasn't the most in-depth combat system to exist - it still felt nice to destroy things with a melee weapon as opposed to the usual 'click the heads'.

My only major gripes with the game were the lack of enemy variety, both as normal mobs and "bosses". The weapon variety was questionable, and the placement of upgrade benches and resources could have used some more thought.

It's unfortunate that the game itself is relentlessly compared to Dead Space. While I can see why this is the case, especially with Glen Schofield as the game's director - it's still an entirely different game / series at its core. It's also a shame that Glen has since left Krafton, so there's not much hope in seeing further refinement to the game or a sequel under the same creative vision.

Overall, I would firmly recommend the game, however not at the full retail price as it feels a little more like a proof of concept than a fully fledged game with the lack of polish in the gameplay itself.

While the game has an excellent visual style and complimentary audio engineering, the puzzles and gameplay itself really leave a lot to be desired. They will give you a gimmick for each level and fail to revisit that same gimmick in any capacity. In that respect - the game could have really benefited from a 'tool belt' system, allowing players to re-use tools and gimmicks from other levels in order to add depth to the puzzles. I imagine the game was intended to be extra casual for this omission alone.
I'd still recommend the game just because of the friend pass system and length of the game being quite reasonable, just maybe not at full price.

Just when things couldn't get any worse, lobbies are starting to fill with hackers.
Avoid this like the plague.

How can they ever expect ranked Arena mode to ever work, when if you're Diamond ranked, you get matched with people that are Bronze/Silver/Gold or even unranked.
Yet somehow, removing tap strafing from the game is a higher priority than fixing an utterly broken matchmaking system.
Not to mention you can get in games where you have 1 other team mate, or sometimes no teammates, because the matchmaking just straight up doesn't work. This has happened repeatedly throughout the latest season.
Anyone would think this is a small indie game studio working on this game, but it's not.

EDIT: Ranked Arenas is still broken even after the season 11 update.

Love Tavern suffers from an identity crisis like a middle-aged man purchasing a business suit with a anime girl tie and a beer hat. Does it want to be - A match 3 hentai game? A simulation game? A visual novel? An RPG? It's hard to tell if the art style is also trying to be sexy or cute.
The game really fell apart as I began to experience some absurd load time and frame rate issues. Random FPS drops and menus that take as many as 5 seconds and 3 clicks to open or close. There's constant prompts popping up in your face like a webpage that's gone rampant with ads.
As much as I really wanted to enjoy the game, it just feels massively unfinished and the equivalent of a studio that asked its developers to just work on whatever they wanted to, then slapped it together into a game and said "Yeah, this is good enough."
Perhaps the game will improve as it nears completion, but for now it's a hard pass.
