Only way to run this mess is with a $2500 PC and even then it hitches frequently. Unplayable for me even tho I'm able to run almost any other game fine with a few things turned down. Frankly, piling Unreal 5, already the most poorly optimized unwieldy engine in common use on top of Gamebryo sounded like a disaster waiting to happen and I would be very surprised if patches can fix this. The frames might improve a bit, but that doesnt matter when the game uses 80-90% of all 8 of my cores inside a small dungeon.

Game actively wants you to hate it. Some good ideas and I'm glad they were brought forward into the later games, games which are objectively better in almost every way. This game instead actually wastes your time and is just less interactive and not fun with some frankly baffling balancing and scaling decisions, so many steps back from ds1. I can never regard the love this game gets by its cult following as anything other than nostalgia. If you're new to souls games or started with 3/ER don't even bother.

Every save crashes after a certain amount of in game time. Uninstall until fixed.

For a free game, this is very well thought out and written. The quality of the content is real, and I have no problems with this, even though I'm not really a VN fan. The problem I have is that there is no possible way to achieve a happy ending. This game is misery, and while I understand some enjoy this and appreciate the twist on a VN formula, I can't recommend this as I didn't have fun with it. I came away feeling like ♥♥♥♥ no matter what I did in game. Even the best ending was unsatisfying to me.

Very experienced pdx map game player, but this one is very specifically designed for modern history nerds and no one else. In order to excel you need an obsession with gun/military/naval/ww2 era weaponry the logistics of it all, if you play this as just a strategy game you're going to lose every campaign. It's good at what it does, but I can't recommend it to the vast majority of players, including myself.

Don't do it. Don't get wrapped up in this mess. You'll be as far in as I am and then realize how many hours of your life was utterly wasted on inconsequential map painting, and it just loses all its joy and leaves emptiness and frustration when none of your campaigns goes the way you want because you can't get joy out of playing it the same old ways you used to.
