Ahh the game is just as I remember it, you know I actually prefer these older games compared to the new ones, playing through this game after 10 years of not touching it, wonderfully nostalgic experience. I would only recommend that you buy the game on sale, since it doesn't really have that much replay value, and a couple bugs I'm about to explain. By the way I did everything in the game, besides running around and collecting flags, which in total took me 15 hours. I have 17 hours because I played through 2 hours of the game and then my power went out, deleting my save, having to restart. Which if you've played the game, the start of the game, is very, very, slow.

BUT, onto a few bugs you need to be aware of if you're going to buy this game:

FIRST BUG, if you try to Leap of Faith immediately after synchronizing, a invisible box will appear onto the haystack you are trying to Leap of Faith into, cause in most cases, depending on how high you are, immediate de-synchronization. The solution to get around this to avoid dying, wait until the game save, and wait until your screen clears up from the memory bar adding the view point to your memory objectives, THEN you will be able to Leap of Faith into the haystack, BUT be careful and to make sure to let it save all the time, because even when I did this, there were some times the bug still happened, and I died.

SECOND BUG, the game does tend to crash after being played for multiple hours on end, the way I ended up having to play, was to make sure I didn't go past 3 hours play time in a session, and then I would just simply restart the game and it would be good to go for another couple hours.

THIRD BUG, Im just gonna classify overall graphical/visual/physics engine as bug number 3, because you are going to experience some crazy bugs from the physics engine, but in my opinion, it makes the game that much better, because it really does make you appreciate what we get from a game today, compared to a game from 2007, which was a best seller of its time, and arguably one of the greatest games to bless us the time it was released.

The last thing isn't a bug, but I do HIGHLY recommend that you play controller with this one, I played through on mouse and keyboard, honestly was not the best experience, the mouse controls were fine, but the keyboard movement is annoying sometimes, it can cause you to try to go up something you can't, or the complete opposite way, in my own personal experience lol. So yeah, I would get a controller, thats the way the game was meant to be played anyways.

Overall the game is from 2007, so don't try to hate in the reviews so much, this is a timeless classic from Ubisoft and honestly very happy they brought it to steam so I could enjoy a game from my childhood once again. I do wish Ubisoft showed it a little love though, and came out with a small quality of life patch. I was thinking about trying to speedrun the game, because you don't have to fill up every memory bar and you can avoid doing a lot of things in the game, but with the bugs, I just don't want to have to deal with them all the time like that. With that being said, this is the end of my review, I'm off to play Assassin's Creed 2, and will be leaving a review for that one as well.

First game impressions:

Wow this game was surpisingly easy, or so I thought.

After I conquered my first region I struggled to defend my second outpost and then wasn't able to train and send ninjas fast enough to my other outpost to defend is, thus after two hours, I finally lost.

I really did enjoy the game though. The tutorial teaches you everything you need to know and the Achievements are fairly easy to get. As a person who loves Tycoon games I genuinly did not mind playing this game at all. I thought that with the low price it would have major issues, but nope.

The only issue I had found, was when using fast forward, especially the 3x fast forward. The ninjas and workers would skip back and forth causing them to take much longer to get to there post and where you are sending them. The best way to get around this, is when sending someone to a post or training, etc. you should put the speed on normal speed, let them get there, and then once they are at the location you want them to be at, use the fast forward.

Overall, this is a pretty nice game, and I enjoyed the graphics. Yes, I would recommend this game.
