Polle says: I hope this hurts.

If you love games that bend you in psychological horror, and make you feel like you are being watched, you'll have a great time. It's not a long game, so it's perfect for those who want a quick but enriching horror experience. Have a happy birthday! ;)

Pentiment is a truly thought provoking and rich experience. Throughout my play through, I found myself drawn further and further into the labyrinth-like world of Andreas Maler, the Benedictine monks and nuns of Kiersau, and the townsfolk of Tassing, Baravia— it honestly felt as though I was growing older alongside them. The emotions portrayed in this story are captured seamlessly in the dialogue and expressions of the characters, and I was entirely captivated with the writing and art style.
As someone interested in religious and mythological teachings as well as the history of art I found so much of this game to be intellectually inspiring. I loved the many references to literature, ongoing world events, and teachings of the time, and how my choices in Andreas' background affected dialogue choices I could choose from. Unearthing the mystery of the world as I watched it change throughout the acts was enthralling. I found myself puzzling over who could truly be the culprit, as well as if I made the right decisions. Finding myself at the end of this experience was very bittersweet, as I saw how my choices affected the townsfolk in the end.
I am left speechless to how absolutely delightful this game is, and how many emotions it brought forth in me. I hope everyone has a chance to sit down and experience this intriguing and mysterious world.

Deep Rock Galactic is an incredibly addictive game that will lure you into a false sense that "hey, maybe work IS fun." The thing is, it really isn't! After playing for a while, the only thing you'll be thinking about during your actual work or schooling is that ROCK AND STONE.
The gameplay loop is incredibly polished. First, you load up into the Space Rig, where you may choose and customize your weapons and dwarf with modifications, skins, and cosmetics, to make you a unique asset to any team. I personally shudder when I hear the word "modifications" but to my delight modifying is incredibly simplified and fortunately easy to pick up!
After customizing your dwarf, you check to see what beer is being offered in the 30-minute refresh cycle. Different beers give different buffs to you while you work, just imagine a world where that was really the case! You can still drink too many beers, which can cause you to be drunk in the Space Rig and on whatever mission you choose. Not to worry though, if you accidentally drink one too many beers, they have a beer for that too. After sobering up with a Leaf Lover Beer, you can waddle over to the mission control & select from a variety of biomes and mission types.
The biomes and missions available rotate every 30 minutes, always keeping things new and fresh. Each area you play on is a procedurally generated cave, meaning no two caves are ever alike. Sometimes this works to your advantage, other times it can be a little frustrating to work with. A majority of the time though, the cave is accessible enough that it's fun to walk through but keeps enough challenge in its layout to keep you engaged. There's another thing making this work so engaging though, the combat.
As this game has grown, its enemies and random events have diversified. You'll constantly be battling the locals, but now a rival company's robots can spawn in on certain missions, along with a disease called "Rock Pox" in the newest update. Although sometimes combat can become a bit too chaotic at times, rarely have I truly failed a mission because of it. It takes all dwarves being down simultaneously for the mission to fail.
I have an absolute adoration for the art style and themes of Deep Rock Galactic. The rough polygons add a lot of charm to the setting, and each biome has a different creative theme to it. Certain biomes can be a little noisier than others, but it almost adds to the excitement of exploration since you have to dredge through overgrown plant life and avoid its hazards.
It's a charming game full of rock and stone, and it's absolutely a blast to play for a few hours at a time with friends. It's a great game for both casual and experienced gamers alike! With that, "your mission is ready, the pod is prepped - get on board the Drop Pod!"

It's not often I choose to review a game, but this game has taken my heart twice now. Sea of Thieves is a wonderful game to pick up with a couple of friends for an evening of fun. It's not for those looking for something quick and simple though; Voyages can range from 40 minutes to a couple of hours depending on the complexity. I've found myself hooked twice, once back in August & now (March of 2021) enjoying the exploration, riddles, puzzles, as well as the adrenaline from combat with other players, & random encounters with NPC ships (namely Skeleton & Ghost ships), & monsters such as the Kraken & different rarities of megalodon. Random map-wide events spawn for you to sail to frequently, using the clouds in the sky as your guide. Be careful though! It's always important to be on your guard, because as the name says, this sea is truly full of THIEVES. Other players are always looking to catch you with your pants down, to sink your ship & steal your treasure. I absolutely love gathering a friend or two & sailing around for a while. This game can really bring out both the best & worst aspects of a person, & it's a great exercise of teamwork & communication with friends!
