This is one of the best vr games, play it, but there's a problem. The game is way too hard for its own good. I started on normal difficulty as I always do, and it quickly dawned on me that it's actually equal to nightmare difficulty in most flatscreen games, not to even mention vr games.
However at first, I really enjoyed the extreme difficulty since it required a lot of planning and a tactical approach with learning enemy positions, prioritizing enemies and using weaponry smartly instead of just going in guns blazing demolishing everything. This resulted in being the most satisfying vr gameplay I've ever played before, but only during the first few chapters.
The issue with this is when a single mistake means death, the tiniest gameplay issues become extremely annoying, and oftentimes a death clearly felt like an issue in the game, but no mercy was given and I was sent back to the beginning of a long fight.
The biggest offender was the Maharishi Gronto bossfight where I spent over an hour on normal and got to the last phase only a few times, with 5-15% health and all my ammo depleted, while tons of minions spawned in my face along with the boss already on my ass, and you can guess how that went. I eventually gave up and changed the difficulty to story and beat the boss first try, albeit with 20% health left. I'm not sure how that boss is possible at all on normal.
As the game kept shoving more and more enemies the extreme difficulty went from fun to annoying as I would have to restart each fight at least 3 times to learn enemy positions, types and which guns fit the best. This became unbearably exhausting at around chapter 17 when the game was at its hardest, and I ended up changing the difficulty to story just to see the ending since the game is already so long.
Even on the easiest difficulty the final fights were harder than any vr game I've played before on normal difficulty so I'm not sure what "removes all challenge from combat" means.
This review is basically just some thoughts I wanted to get out after beating the game, so don't take it too seriously, everything else about the game is perfect.

TL;DR: skill issue

the ending is the best ending to any story ever, I've read, watched and played countless of stories and no other so far has been able to convey so much raw emotion as this and I think it genuinely changed my life for the better

I can't do this anymore. Uncooperative camera mixed with awkward parry timings and unclear enemy movements make the gameplay incredibly frustrating and annoying. I'd love to see a remaster with those things fixed, but for now, I'm out of patience for redoing the same parts tons of times just to fail over and over again because the camera decides to tornado around me or an enemy does chain attacks out of nowhere that I can't parry for some reason.

new hide and seek mode is incredible, I love it

edit: ping and latency issues make it easy for imp to win as you can't even get near him or you'll get sniped even after venting

The best survival/exploration/adventure/crafting/everything game. Every aspect of the game is fun and brilliant, story is great, gameplay is fun, mechanics are good, there's nothing bad to say except small nitpicking. This game probably has the most value for your money, I played for almost 80 hours and I had fun every second. Definitely my top 5 favourite game ever.

Hands down the best horror game. There are many great ones out there, but not once has the horror element been executed so perfectly. It still feels fresh after a third playthrough. Good stuff.

Loved it. Don't get the hate. It has everything of a good DLC and more: same gameplay with a few positive twists such as a conclusion to the original story, new mechanics and new enemies. The stone imp was a nice addition and free shotgun ammo, the armored baron's armor felt immensely satisfying to break and the cursed prowler is a new enemy to prioritise. Just spot him, meathook, boom, dead. I didn't really get the toy soldiers that explode from 1 plasma rifle shot but whatever, there wasn't many of them anyway. The bossfight was nice, had 5 phases and had something new each time. New environments look great. Music was good. Difficulty was perfect for me like in the base game and TAG 1, which I all played on ultra-violence. All in all very satisfied with everything, excited for the future master levels and whatever new game is in the making.

A nice addition to the camping adventures of the Secret Society B.L.A.N.K.E.T.

It's a 1-episode-length interactive little game for VR or flatscreen alike. It's simple, but sound design and interactiveness makes up for it.
Something I would change though, is that the chat messages shouldn't be glued to your headset, as it causes motion sickness. They should just be still like a painting and allow freelook. Also the photos you took by the lake should've definitely been saved as screenshots. Don't have any screenshots to post now sadly.
The price is a bit high, but I take it as an option to support the developers of the game and the original creator. As I can't buy the anime in my country, this is a great option.
