Basically anime Dark Souls, although much easier. You can use an AI companion who will revive you if you die.
It is quite fun to play coop with one other player.
There is a bit of grind if you want to unlock all the achievements, however, a single play through is about 40+ hours.

Basically Dark Souls with guns, only far more forgiving. You don't lose anything upon death.
It is lots of fun to play through the game coop with up to 2 friends.
The developer, Gunfire Games, also regularly updates the game. So expect more content in the future.
There is quite a bit of grind involved if you want to unlock everything, however, a single play through is 10-15 hours.

Quite possibly the best Action RPG I've played in recent memory; truly a work of art. I can best describe the gameplay as a combination of Dark Souls, Legend of Zelda, and Skyrim all rolled into one. Some may find the story a bit lackluster and the graphics aren't exactly cutting edge, but Dragon's Dogma more than makes up for it with it's engrossing combat and unique character develpment systems.

The base game is not too punishing, but if you're looking for a Dark Souls type of challenge the Dark Arisen portion of the game should more than satisfy your craving. There's also many things to keep you busy: crafting, questing, customizing your appearance, even raising npc affinity. If you love open world fantasy ARPGs, there is no reason this game should not be in your library.

10/10 would suicide again...
