Review

Crea is a 2D sanbox RPG and at the start it took a while to generate the world but once that is done its time to create your character which is pretty basic options but it does the job nicely. The leveling system is nice and you can also use talent points. talent poitns can be earned by gathering materials, mining and chopping trees and such, each talent has different skills that can be leveled up, there is also passive and active skills and you can spend your talent points on the things you want to be strongest at. The overall experiece with skills and the talent points is excellent. Also there is 2 modes which you change with Y, building an combat to makes things easier you just switch to what you need.

The world on this was huge and i ran into some problems when i got to far from the start so had to stay close to level up, both physical and magical attacks seem easy to use and worked well. The game reminds me of Terraria by the look of it and i think this will generate a following similar to that.

Over the game was very easy to pick and play and using the controller was very easy, i can see this game becoming a huge success and the developers should be proud of their creation. I do feel the price should be similar to terrarias price of 6.99 GBP

Rating:

6.5/10

Pros:

  1. basic tutorial is good and gives you a great start to the game
  2. Controller support is good, I try to use the steam controller for anything non fps and it was easy to pick an play straight away. i did not try with a keyboard.
  3. TELEPORTATION- no need to spend hours trying to get to certain places, something that would put me off usually but this fixed it.
  4. Active developer - been many updates since i installed this and more to come.
  5. Trading cards for anyone who like to collect the badges :)

Cons:
  1. No dedicated servers.
  2. Options menu is limited on the main menu but alot better once the game is running.
  3. Lag, my pc seems to lag quite a bit while running this and im not to sure why as the game is not that demanding and i have had other games that require heavy ammount of resources and run fine.
  4. Game just will not minimize to windows, if i needed to go back out id have to quit the game completely.
  5. Crafting was a bit confusing and i didnt see a tutorial on this, maybe one should be added :)

Zombie party! Where to start, well its a top down shooter and this one is a whole lot of fun, its the most fun i have had with a top down shooter since loaded!. The main menu looks great and its easy to use, The how to play and tutorial is great and explains how everything works. The options menu has everything that is needed, however its in 1 big list with quite a heavy font and in my opinion its an eye sore.

There is single player and online play, 4 game modes make the game have alot of playability with Adventure, Dungeon, Arcade and Deathmatch. On the online side of things you can host or join someone else game, i expect the online games to be mega fun once the lag is sorted out because its unplayable in its current state and i was frustrated with it within minutes, It was a shame really after having such a wonderful experience with the single player mode and then having the online side so unplayable, i am sure the dev will sort it out soon as the updates are on the way and its still in alpha.

LOTS OF GUNS!!!, there are so many weapons and unlockables and upgrades the game will be fun for hours, i would personally like to see steam achievements on here just as an added bonus.

Rating:

7.5/10

Pros:

  1. weapon, unlockables and upgrade choices are excellent, making every game different
  2. plenty of game modes to keep you interested.
  3. Controls are very easy to use, i used a steam controller and a keyboard, although both were easy to use i preferred to use the keyboard.
  4. Customize certain elements of charecter, hats an stuff :D
  5. Tutorial was excellent and gets you off to a great start if you dont wanna sit a figure things out

Cons:
  1. lag on online play is quite bad.
  2. The text in options is to big an a bit heavy on the eyes, need to be made smaller and the option being grouped together, graphics, Audio and controls etc
  3. Sometimes there can be to much going on at one time and it can be hard to see whats going on, this is something i can live with. Can there ever be to much?
  4. 30 fps lock
[* No steam achievements, i guess they will be added later

Ok so Astral Terra is a sandbox survival game, so to start off i created my character which was pretty easy to use and then i created my world, Once loaded the game looks good and the detail as you look up at the sky and upper part of the tree is quite impressive compared to some of the other sandbox games that are similar to this, So i started to do some exploring and ended up doing alot of running around and basically terraforming EVERYTHING in sight which is pretty fun. I know this game is at the alpha stage but there has to be some objective or quest to keep me entertained or even wanting to keep playing as wandering around terraforming can only keep me going so long.

The game has single player and multiplayer of which you can use your own created world for mulitplayer which is a great idea if you want to show friends something you have done in your own world and vice a versa. The game has a minimap which is awesome but not one thing was shown on it apart from direction.

The game has a fully configured steam controller which made the game alot easier with the steam track pad. I have seen on some other reviews that you need a monster pc to run this but i disagree with that, my pc is or wasa budget pc, paid about 550 GBP and i can run this on ultra and with no issues

Overall i feel this game has huge potential and i am honestly wishing the dev the best with it as it seems like he really cares about this game. It looks good and the the idea and concept of it all are great, but for me i need something to do more than just run around
Rating:

5/10

Pros:

  1. Graphics are really good.
  2. Terraforming works really well.
  3. Steam controller works flawlessly, trackpad made it easier than using a keyboard and mouse
  4. Easy to move where you want, so if you need to get really high up, you can move yourself and no need to spend hours building or terraforming platforms.
  5. Active dev, has been 3 updates recently and they are very open to feedback and constructive criticism.

Cons:
  1. No objective or quests
  2. No tutorial for the alsolute newbie on the game mechanics.
  3. There are still many bugs but the dev is sorting them out.
  4. The music in my own opinion started to get on my nerves abit, This should be varied with some other music.
  5. The game should not be early access just yet as i feel there is still a way to go before it should be sold as early access

first thoughts were , what a good looking game and it is a huge place to explore and have a good look around.

The idea of the game is great although the movement of the character is not as fluid as i would like and the combat system is something that ould be improved upon

5.0/10

Pros:
  • Graphics - the world looks great
  • Concept is good and the ideas around the game are good.
  • The fact that im was protected by some big ass cat was very pleasing
  • Settings are basic but everything i needed was there
  • Dev is very active

    Cons:

  • Sound track wasnt something that impressed me.
  • Not my usual type of game and as its not something i play i would have liked a decent tutorial to get started properly and keep me drawn into the game.
  • Mini map is a must as it could take forever to find something and for a gamer with limited time to play it is a detriment to the game in my opinion.
  • Very slow getting into and tends to bore early on.
  • Movement speed is slow and should be increased and more like and FPS.

As i said this is not my type or favourite genre so for me to like and understand it there needed to be a top notch tutorial and this one that is used is very very basic and alot of work to keep checking, pop up tutorial would have been alot more beneficial to a player who has not played or is not used to this type of game. The game seems infinished and there is improvements to make. The game would instantly be 100 times better if you added a minimap, pop up tutorials and faster movement. The game look awesome and im sure in time it could be a great game but there is a little work left to do yet

The game concept is genius and the overall experience is a fantastic one, the movement could be a bit more fluent for my liking but thats because i am used to fps games that have fast response. if im honest it just took to long for me to get into it, i dont have a huge amount of time to game therfore every minute i have is used for something i really need to play, if i could have 1 improvement would be its pick up an play ability, however the game is so clever and innovative that i think this would be impossible. overall great game and from what i can gather it has a dev who loves his game and gives 100%, will support this game for that alone and hope many other buy an play it.

Seems to be a pretty decent game, with 11 characters with different controls, the varience in this game is great, i could see how easily this game could get addictive and end up with masses of hours played. The music is great and fits the game perfectly, Great controller support featured and the game options give everything needed to make the game enjoyable.

Overall a great game, i think the price should maybe be 6.99 instead of 9.99

Well i was surprised as this is not usually the type of game i would even install but its actually pretty good, music is relaxing making it easier to sit there as some of the tasks are time consuming, the best feature for me was controller support as this kind of game usually would need to be played with a mouse but its just as easy with a controller :)

well worth a play

My only negative is that the price is very high for what the game is, its 22.99 and i would expect to pay 6.99 in reality, so maybe wait for a reduction.
