An enjoyable short 5-10h metroidvania but not quite the perfect gem many fans seem to claim it is.
Bossfights are enjoyable but the difficulty isn't particularly punishing

Could learn a few things about warp gate and save area positioning and map design from games like Super Metroid. After traveling though multiple screens of environmental hazards and traps you will usually have to backtrack the same way back after grabbing which ever object you gained from doing it and save areas tend to be pretty far away from these areas, leading to some unsatisfying backtracking and having to navigate the same corridors of traps twice. Since it is a relatively short game there aren't many items to return to old areas for either and areas aren't as memorable or fluid to travel through as the Castlevania areas that they are obviously referencing.

If you are a Touhou fan and enjoy metroidvanias then you will enjoy this one and if you a metroidvania fan but aren't particularly familiar with Touhou you will still find enjoyable 8 hours or so from this game though it might not be the most memorable game of this genre you have played.
