Nobody knows who I really am
I never felt this empty before
And if I ever need someone to come along
Who's gonna comfort me, and keep me strong
We are all rowing the boat of fate
The waves keep on coming and we can't escape
But if we ever get lost on our way
The waves would guide you through another day
Nobody knows who I really am
I never felt this empty before
And if I ever need someone to come along
Who's gonna comfort me, and keep me strong
We are all rowing the boat of fate
The waves keep on coming and we can't escape
But if we ever get lost on our way
The waves would guide you through another day
The Copernican Turn in Gaming Theory
"Humans naturally think and judge things from their own self-centered perspective. Even as adults, this trait remains deeply ingrained. When you grow up, you’ll realize that in this vast world, very few people ever completely outgrow this self-centered way of thinking. Particularly when facing matters of profit and loss, it becomes exceptionally difficult to detach from one’s own standpoint and make impartial judgments. To maintain a Copernican perspective when dealing with personal gains and losses is truly remarkable. Most people become trapped in selfish calculations, clouding their vision to see only what benefits them while losing sight of the truth."
Games are merely instances; society is the original reality.
Plato was appalled by one particular folly: entrusting the grave responsibilities of governance to the capricious and gullible mob, let alone to self-serving strategists who manipulate the masses from behind the democratic stage while pledging allegiance to wealth. When repairing furniture or houses, we unhesitatingly delegate the task to specially trained professionals. Why, then, do we presume that every individual inherently knows how to govern a city or nation? When bedridden by illness, we seek a qualified physician rather than demanding a handsome or eloquent one. Conversely, there are matters where we needn't consult anyone – decisions we ought to make entirely for ourselves. Hegel once mocked Kant with biting irony: "Must we study digestology before we can digest?" Yet today's paradox persists: We agonize over consumerist trivialities, eagerly heeding so-called experts about the trendiest clothes or hottest IPs, even scouring reviews to decide which games to play, while strutting with unearned confidence to dictate solutions for existential crises affecting nations, races, and humanity itself.
