Would say it is fun, but it has some glaring issues.

The current events require too much grinding. Each tier requires some 3,500 XP for each of the 4 levels. Winning a fight might get somewhere between 45 and 135. A loss somewhere between 11 and 25. That's a lot of fights to do, extra so if grinding multiplayer isn't your thing. There are some missions, but they don't get you enough to complete more than a tier.

The next big issue is the stability sucks as well as other spotty performance. I regularly get kicked from the server, have the game crash, have certain features lag such as claiming rewards, super long load times for random things, hits not connecting, even though they should be, and some inputs not registering resulting in certain moves not procing. Having these issues when being forced to grind multiplayer sucks. It just isn't fun to lose when it isn't your own fault. You also have disconnects from other players. Really unfortunate when they are on your team.

The other issue I have is there isn't much going on here if you don't do multiplayer. Smash has a lot of things to do, but MV doesn't. The one main mode it does have can only be half done since you either don't have X character or Y costume.

I just really wouldn't recommend getting into it. Unfortunately I bought the battlepass, hoping the game would be fun, so I'm stuck for this season, but after this I might bounce.

Game is way to greedy and they stealth reset the grind and boosted the ai to make grinding harder. I would not waste your time on this product.

Game is pretty fun, but man certain missions are just too difficult without getting the right RNG and they aren;t quick enough to repeatedly retry until good RNG.

Early Access Review
So I wanted to come back and edit this review a bit later.

Would I recommend this game? no.

I bought it when it was a beck builder with the other elements attached. (There really wasn't too much going on at that time.) Currently, it has been updated to move away from that. That is the main reason I give it a negative review. It isn't what I bought, but that's a casuality of early access. It happens. I would totally recommend staying away if that is what you are after.

But I also give it a negative for another reason: it just isn't fun. The new method of doing shoots is just too random. You get random cards that might go together and make a good shoot or you might get nothing that works well. I found this to just ruin the pace of the game. I feel there is little, maybe even no, skill inviolved and it is just rliant on getting the right cards.

This randomness also ruins being able to enjoy the animation that go on during the shoots since you have basically no control over who you will be using. If I'm not mistaken, there is also story elements you can only get from using certain people in successful shoots and not being able to have really any say over who you get, and thus get story with, really hampers your ability to go after the people you want.

Heck, I'm a straight dude, but half of my shoots the only named character was a dude. I don't care about his story. I'd rather do the zombie story again or one of the others added since I last played and did all the stories I could at the time. I can't.

Only thing I could do was just start a new day, see what my starting hand was like, then force a lose and try again to see if I could get them and I rarely did get them. Got the dude plenty of times.

Stuff like that is why I enjoyed the deck building aspects. It added in a few, if barely there, business sim elements and gave me a bit of say in what kind of scenes and characters I got to see which is something I found really lacking here. The main gameplay elements became a tedious thing to sit through to try and get to the story content. That story, and art, is indeed nice, but if that all this is there that's just pics and text. There's no game. The previous version had some game, that I could really get behind, but this I can't.

According to the devs, the previous version was hated by the community and it was requested to change back to this current system, which the describe as being like Go Fish or Solitaire, and it just really ruins it for me.

I guess I'll end this with saying if you are interested in this game, really chjeck it out. There's a couple of different versions of it out there, some of which are better than others. Just make sure to check the most recent ones to see if this is the type of game for you.

Sadly, for me, it is not.

Game might be fun, as of right now, I can't reommend it to anybody that mainly prefers playing by themselves.

I really like this game and want to give it a positive review, but they removed what was my favorite feature sometime during EA and I just don't find myself enjoying this game nor wanting to play more of it.

Feature I'm talking about is the non-hero units. They were very unique and added a lot to your armies and cheaper, disposable units you could use in place of heroes or as reinforcements. This added a lot to the battles and really made me enjoy the game.

Now, maybe if this feature had never been present, I'd not be complaining about it nor want it, but after playing using them, I can't see myself playing it without. Not sure why the decision to remove them was made, but it was a really bad decision and gets a thumbs down from me.

Once / if this feature gets added back into the game then I'll come back and update my review, but until then, I'll be playing soemthing else.

The 4 hero classes are decent, but no matter what combination of skills you get, the game is not nearly as interesting as it used to be.

If you don't care about this feature, I'd probably say get it. I do like most other things in the game besides this, but this is big enough for me to not like it.

So, I saw this game recently and thought it looked cool. It has a nice art style and some of the bosses looked interesting. I decided to pick it up. I thought it would be fun.

I was dead wrong.

*note I only play games with a mouse and keyboard. I personally feel like if it is sold on PC it should be able to be played like that.

I would urge any computer player that perfers to play with mouse and keyboard to not get this game. It is so frustrating and is basically unplayable.

For starters, none of the controls work with a mouse. Everything has to be played through the keyboard. Tat's not so bad, but I couldn't find any good layout for any kind of controls in here. Also, the fact that the yes and attack keys are the same is rediclous. I have been killed so many times by npcs because I was trying to progress through our conversations is crazy. It doesn't help that you enter conversations by touching the npcs. Well, only if from the front. If you approach from behind they will yell bad touch and then attack you.

Combat also felt very lacking. That may just be because I was still early, but it was just so boring and I didn't feel like I was doing anything. Might have been different if I wasn't mostly fighting npcs.

Seriously. If you are going to make a PC game, actually make it be able to be played on a pc with your standard equippment.

I'm sorry to have to do this since I'd really like to like this game, but it is just impossible. This game is so bad it is my first ever Steam review as well as refund on Steam. I wish it wasn't so.

Final verdict: Anybody who plays keyboard and mouse had best stay away from this game. Might still be worth a YouTube watch though.
