Great game! Good atmospheric horror, wonderful artwork, interesting setup and plot; good sense of humor. It's clearly inspired by H.P. Lovecraft, so if you're into his works then you'll enjoy the story here. It's like a mashup of Cthulu, Dunwich Horror, Music of Erich Zann, and Color out of Space. It's a great way to spend 10 hours if you're looking for good thrills and some fun laughs.

Wow, if this is the VR game of the year then I have no faith for the future of VR. I hope you enjoy attempting to do any action three times before anything actually happens. Like getting stuck in walls while in the middle of an open walkway somehow? Hope you weren't in the middle of combat. Like ammo seemingly disappearing on a regular basis? Good! Sometimes enemies endlessly spawn without any warning in waves of 2-3 each, so you wasted all your ammo not realizing there was no end to it. Check point was 10 minutes ago ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. This game sucks, get Vertigo 2 or Half-Life Alyx instead.

It's a spectacular game with a lot of depth and a very well thought out battle system. There are two distinct story paths and six endings between them with seemingly endless optional bosses leading to a massive amount of replay value. The super bosses are incredibly challenging and require some serious strategy to take down. Also the sound track is phenomenal, even insignificant encounters tend to have their own battle theme and they all rock. Highly recommend this title.

It's a deeply depressing experience that makes you feel bad, but the fact that it makes you feel anything at all is a massive compliment to its story telling and the experience overall. It's incredibly intriguing as well, and it raises many questions that you'll want to uncover the answers to. The combat is good, it's a hack and slash with RPG elements, it's not the deepest system around and tends to be on the easy side though, but it does offer a hard mode if you find it too easy. There are multiple endings and naturally the most satisfying ones are the most difficult to get and require much more play time. I don't want to spoil what the game asks from you to get these endings, but it may seem daunting at first. I promise it's not as bad as it seems and is worth doing what it asks, at the time of writing this review I've gotten endings A, B, D, and E and have spent 33 hours, the first 25 were just getting ending A. After getting an ending, the game will give you a very helpful hint on how to get further endings, so you can easily avoid guides full of spoilers, which you should.

Given the popularity of Automata, there is a good chance most of the people going into this game started with that game and worked their way backwards like I did, if you want to know if the games are connected in any way: ___yes___.

In the end, I highly recommend this game. It is not perfect and there will be a few slow moments and a bit of repetition, but stick with it and you'll walk away with a very unique and compelling experience.

I loved the original, and this is an improvement on that in just about every way. The systems are a lot less cryptic and easier to grasp, but are in turn even easier to abuse to make the game too easy. You can swap the difficulty to a higher level any time from the menu though if you want a higher challenge. The optional post-game bosses and dungeons have had their difficulty increased too, so there's a good reason to get absurd with the item creation and other systems. Highly recommended.

Buggy, long loading, worthless auto-saves, and really badly implemented multiplayer that doesn't let anyone except for the host to save their multiplayer character locally, meaning you can't continue your character on your own unless you were the host. This was recently taken out of early access and I really don't think it was ready. These issues can be solved and I hope they are, this game has good potential, but it's just too frustrating and undercooked.

It's a friend simulator with a good story, and good RPG mechanics.

It's a tribute to the early Paper Mario games. If you like those, you'll like this.

This manages to do a lot of things better though. Instead of a main character and a secondary partner like the Paper Mario games, you have three main characters + guests from time to time. This opens the door to a lot more strategy. Strategy is good too, because this game is a lot more challenging than the Paper Mario games which to a lot feel too easy. If the game feels too easy then there are options to increase the difficulty for more rewards, which allows you to better customize your experience.

The story is charming, and the characters are likable. What's better is that the side quests are all pretty meaningful and are almost all very rewarding. These side quests include a few fetch quests, but there is always some clever dialog to make it seem more interesting. Exploration is very much so rewarded as well, with lots of optional bosses to fight and useful equipment to find.

This is a great RPG for anyone, and a special treat for long time Paper Mario fans.

Early Access Review
It's a wonderful action-rpg looter in the vein of Diablo. The character classes are diverse, and the ability to customize individual skills is great! I've made probably 8 characters and all of them feel really fine-tuned and customized thanks to the skill customization. This system is also wonderful for the fact that skills level up independently of your character, so instead of waiting for your character to level up for a few skill points, you're constantly gaining skill levels on-top of character levels, so the sense of progression has a nice pace.

This game is early access, but the developers constantly update it with meaningful content. I'm very excited for the 1.0.
