Holy GOAT game

Please, do NOT buy this game.

This game is a complete and utter SCAM. There are so many features that were promised that are completely absent from the "final" game. The game is RIDDLED with bugs, glitches, softlocks and everything in between and worst of all its just not fun.

There is almost no real gameplay. The only gameplay that exists is the occasional action gunning sections but those are few and far between. 90% of this game is talking to other characters and pressing F on the 1 or 2 choices to pick from. (and almost all of the choices have no impact on the story until the very very end) Even some of the choices with a limited amount of time to choose whether or not to do an option, if you pick nothing, the game will just do the action anyway.

Honestly, even if this game worked perfectly and there were no bugs or anything, the fundamentals of the game are BORING. This game, at its core is extremely boring, confusing and lazily done. This game throws all exposition straight at you through 15 minute or more conversations with other characters. When there are missions where you have to drive with a character to another location you NEVER even get to drive. You are always the passenger and can only sit and do nothing while they explain the story and name 50 random other characters who you've never met.

The city looks amazing, the art direction is cool and interesting however, it is EMPTY and the game presents you so little time to explore. Even when you can explore, why would you? The map is empty with maybe only a few buildings to enter.

There are 5 endings I believe, and I have only managed to get 2, the 2 that most people are likely to get. (one of which didn't even give me an achievement???) but both the ones I got don't even feel like you accomplished what you set out to do in the first place and are extremely disappointing and lackluster and from what I read about the other ones, they don't seem much better.

The only good thing I can say about this game is the city looks cool, but that's seriously it.

If you are looking for a new game to play, PLEASE do not waste your money on this game. Its not fun and it is an actual SCAM!

tl;dr: Basically, if you like Animal Crossing and/or the Frog Detective series, you will absolutely love this game!

Very rarely in the past few years can games really keep me playing for very long. I often find myself getting bored after a pretty short amount of time and usually just stop. A Short Hike however had my full attention from the moment I started playing. The fun flying and "parkour" mechanics, mixed in with the amazing art style, adorable characters, fishing, collectables and cute conversations had me hooked and I found myself wanting to play to 100% completion with all the achievements!

The game can be extremely short if all you want to do is get to the top of the mountain, but with a bunch of fun side quests it can keep you playing from anywhere to 3-7 hours most likely. As mentioned I have 100% this game and have in around 5 hours! For the current (full) price of $8 USD, its well worth it!

The game is beautiful, whether you're playing on the default pixelated settings, or you go into the settings and mess around with the pixelation ;-). The soundtrack is amazing, very bright, happy and very gradually and organically fades into the other songs, depending where you're at on the map. The map size is pretty good. It feels fairly large for a small, cute indie game, yet at the same time after playing for not too long you'll know exactly how to get everywhere you need to go!

Basically, if you like Animal Crossing and/or the Frog Detective series, you will absolutely love this game! This is definitely a game that I am gonna remember for awhile!

This game is extremely fun and addicting and is probably my favorite game of 2019 so far!

If you are even thinking 1% about wanting to get this game, do it! You wont regret it!

After playing a run for over 3 hours, gaining hundreds of items, and killing thousands of enemies; dying doesn't stop me from wanting to immediately hop into another game and start again!

Being able to stack most items to the point where you just become a god and destroy everything in just a few hits or less is the best feeling in the world! Chaining together kills with electricity and will-o-the-wisp and hearing all the coin sounds and damage numbers going around is nearly therapeutic!

Considering how new this game is and how amazingly enjoyable it already is, i cant wait to see what time will bring!

I would highly recommend this game to literally anyone! 11/10
