Everything that EA touches turns to ♥♥♥♥. Maybe I am naive but I figured that the remnants of the codemasters team would be able to transfer the things that worked from DR2 but they absolutely broke it. VR in DR2 is stable and clear. VR in this game is an unoptimized blurry mess. My fanatec wheel and pedals constantly stop working which never happens in other games. This game needs actual optimization. You can have a ton of features and locations but it means nothing if the game is littered with technical issues.

This is the Racing game i keep returning to. It's the most rewarding driving game I've ever played.
I started playing keyboard and eventually moved up to a wheel rig and finally to a VR setup. You can play this game in any of those ways and its still fun af.

Cons: Slippery physics aren't all that realistic, Always online requirements, weaker force feedback, Rallycross online doesn't have collision

Pros: Slippery physics are extremely punishing and difficult to master, all locations have an unrivaled amount of quirks and features, graphically beautiful, Sound design is phenomenal, Cars all have unique engine characteristics and handle VERY differently depending on engine layout and drivetrains, VR is native and well made, and there is a ton of content.

This game is very hard. The slidey physics punish late brakers Without mercy. I genuinely feel like playing this game made me better at games like ACC and WRC because of the habits that it forces you to develop. I will say that I've never experienced a thrill in a video game greater than sitting cockpit Sliding sideways at 90 mph down a narrow lane in Scotland and somehow ending up on the other side of it alive. Phil Mills is also the best Co-driver in rally and I kiss him on the cheek before every stage for good luck. As far as a racing game goes this one is the whole package and I'm probably going to play it for years to come.

This game has been described to me as many things, the most prominent of which would be "Battlefield on Source Engine". That is hardly accurate.

A more accurate description would be "A well made realistic shooter that requires tactics, good aim, bad accents, and cancerous slav music"

Most notably, This game takes aim to create a source-based FPS that requires communication and slow play to succeed. New World does pretty well with what they have set out to do. The game itself is actually pretty chalk full of content for a game that was originally cost at or around 15$ on launch. It has a lot of maps, a lot of game modes, and a surprisingly fun co-op mode. As a matter of fact, I enjoy the co-op mode more than the PVP. There seems to be a lot of teamwork in that mode.

Past all of this however, there are some issues that seem to persist. Most notably the grahics and optimization. It looks about 1/2 as good as CSGO, and takes 2x the processing power to pump the same framerate. Fortunately, The way that the game plays makes frames a secondary concern to game sense. If you know what you are doing, you can absolutely destroy people from your 8 year old potato. Believe me, as one of the best players I know plays off of a pentium build from 2005 getting an average of 20 fps. The flow of the game focuses more on positioning and waiting games rather than twitch aim. There is a learning curve, but as long as you check your targets and don't shoot your buddies nobody will really rage at you.

The community in this game is what really makes it to me. I've never seen a higher Meme-per-capita in a video game. You always get that one dude that shouts "ALLAHUUUU MAHALALALALA AKKKKKKKKBAR" whenever he blows up a supply cache, and that one dude that speaks with radio callsigns, and that one dude that talks in a russian accent and links us to the "cancerous slav music mod"(I'd actually insist you use it too). I swear. I bust a nut laughing every time I launch the game. The massive modding community really adds to it as well, constantly making better optics, skins, and music packs.

It keeps getting more and more Cheeki Breeki all of the time, and I don't really have any reason to not play.

Glorious Cancer/10

This was revolutionary in gaming technology. Key word being WAS.

I find myself having difficulty reviewing this game. It's such a mixed bag.

In a nutshell, This game is fine. Just fine.
The story follows you, a police officer played by aaron staton (More famously Ken Cosgrove from "Mad Men") as you solve cases in 40's Post war Los Angeles. Rockstar did well developing the enviroment. It does actually feel like i'm in a different period when I play this game. The story is solid, the characters are well written, and yes, the faces look legit. Thats pretty much the reason that I play the game.

The game is on the other hand, a game made for consoles. The port is cancer.
Good luck trying to boot it on windows 7. I had to jump through hoops just to get it playable.
Oh by the way, there is a 30 fps cap. Read it agian. 30 FPS CAP. Even though you can disable it in the game files, the game really doesnt want you to. The reasoning behind this is that the facial animations were only RECORDED in 30 fps. you have the game running at 60 and the faces running at 30 and you get some weird graphical errors. Not to mention that on top of this the game is horrendously optimized. I mean cmon bondai. The game looks mediocre even for the gen it was made for, and you still can't make it run on older hardware.

Anyhoo, Game is still fun enough to play because of the characters and actors.

I'd reccomend it, but barely.

CS:GO Review
The only game I've ever played where you can spend 2400+ hours learning the ins and outs and still be bad at it. Believe me. We are all a varying degree of bad at Counter Strike.
