Plays like a mobile game

I really can't put into words what the Mass Effect Trilogy really achieves but I will try.

The amount of AMBITION bioware had is ASTONISHING, they didn't create a world, they didn't create cities, they didn't conform to that, they created A WHOLE UNIVERSE.
A universe FILLED with lore, filled with interesting places, filled with different species, different cultures, whole different civilizations, different galaxies... I could go on for hours on what bioware really achieved with this series.

The scope of what they created is legendary and I really can't stress this enough:
They created a coherent universe, they didn't create a world, they created so much more, from scratch.

Mass effect universe building rivals Star Trek, this what bioware did, they created such a LIVELY universe that you can make that argument. Isn't that crazy? This series will live forever in my memory.

If you like rpg's you should do yourself a favour and pick this up right now.

Disclaimer: I have the original trilogy on origin and have over 500 hours on the series, even the achievements carried over from my EA sub.

So, Mass Effect Andromeda.. I really tried to love this game, but I just can't recommend this poor excuse of an RPG.
Its biggest crime? Carrying the Mass Effect IP name.

First, you downgrade from Shepard to Riker, the most annoying and plain dumb character in the history of characters, it doesn't help that the history and consistency of the narrative is ALL OVER THE PLACE, this seems more like an action game where you happen to choose some dialogue here and there.

The characters are hilariously dumb without clear ambitions, I'm at a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ loss honestly.
The planets are all a big ball of NOTHING, the game makes you backtrack for NO GOOD REASON, just to add to the playtime I guess?

The only good thing this game has going for it is the combat comparing to its ancestors.

But it doesn't excuse the rest of the game, it's a shame the Mass Effect IP has to carry this low effort attempt of a game on it's shoulder's.

Just play the original trilogy and never look back.
