I played this game ages ago on a friend's PC and really enjoyed it. Recently i bought myself a decent PC with the intention of using it in the living room like a games console. Unfortunately this game does not get on well with the steam controller. After days of trying to fix it, I have finally given up.

Apparently, people were using mouse software to counter act gun recoil. It seems to counter act the cheaters using pseudo random placement of the cursor after firing, or auto kicking people who had the supernatural ability to consistantly refocus on the exact same pixel in the exact same amount of time after each and every shot was too hard.

Instead they employed the help of Easy Anticheat, which is supposed to block the use of any mouse that could allow scripting. The irony of all this is that the only time the steam controller touch pad actually works as a mouse in the game is to aim. It's impossible to get through the menus or crafting with a controller, despite the fact that you're allowed to set control stick > mouse emulation before launching the game proper. To add injury to insult, if you try to set the triggers to emulate a mouse click, you lose the abilty to click on all of your HID devices and can't even quit the game.

I will be avoiding products involving either easy anti cheat or facepunch studios, until one of them owns this ♥♥♥♥ up and corrects it.
