The only thing stopping this from being my favorite SF game is Alex not being in the game.

Every system feels good and serves a purpose. Does a great job of modernizing mechanics from past games, like the parry system and drive impact being stand-ins for parries from SF3 and focus attacks. Makes up for the major disappointment of SF5. The microtransactions suck, but if that's the price I have to pay for good fighting games, I'll pay it.

Takes a lot of the things that made 7 great and makes them even better. The Heat mechanic is a cool addition, adding another way for me to get my ass kicked.

I didn't know this game was going to be 40+ hours long.

I don't recommend this at the moment. If in the future they add more content that actually has stuff to do, I'll append my review. There's cool levels with some cool spots but that's pretty much it. The first update after leaving early access is coming out almost 6 months later, and it's an update for community maps. Granted this is very cool for creators, but it really feels like a cop out; like the devs couldn't figure out what to do and are just relying on the community to make content in the game for them. On a different note, the controls feel a little touchy, like you can prep tricks by sliding the sticks, if you go to far the board just starts popping.

Very fun! It has a lot of potential. There is a slight learning curve with the awkward control scheme (coming from Skate) but once you get the hang of it, landing lines is great. I'd like to see some more frequent updates, and some larger scale updates, say like vert or other locations.
