Definitely one of the best roguelikes out there. This game really stands out due to the time = difficulty mechanic, and the builds that you can play with. You can go from an unstoppable powerhouse able to heal from getting hurt, to a one-shotting machine, able to obliterate the final boss in one hit. The artifacts also add a lot to this game. They can be either helpful, fun, challenging, or just straight up annoying. They are great modifiers for someone who wants an extra challenge, or to get specific items, via the artifact of command, giving you the ability to choose what items you want out of chests. Or, if you want to shred through a ton of enemies, you can use the artifact of swarm, which doubles the enemy spawnrates, but halves their health. This game is really fun to play on the steam deck, although aiming is quite annoying using the analog sticks. Mods are also another great way to add a couple hundred hours onto your playtime. These mods go from adding survivors from RoR1 and RoR:R, to adding extra difficulty options, to Goku. There's really no limit to mods for this game, and me and my friends have had a lot of fun playing with them. For the price tag on this game, I'd wait until a sale, then get both the game and the DLC, Survivors of the Void. This DLC is probably one of the best DLCs I have seen in a game, besides maybe Binding of Isaac, adding a whole new ending, 2 survivors, multiple new areas, and a whole new classification of items. Whether you want to get the DLC or not, this game is great, and is definitely worth getting if you have the money.
