I do think that this is an underrated idle game. Especially for $3 and especially for people who like space and related humor.

Given the reviews of this game and the very popular sentiment to avoid spoilers, I went into Outer Wilds blind and spent the time trying to find the charm and wonder that everyone talks about, but to my dismay, I never myself found it.

Every single location I completed in this game just utterly multiplied the points of interest that I needed to visit. It was overwhelming, like the RPG that constantly piles on side quests, except here, nearly every discovery led to three more, leaving me none the wiser and no closer to understanding my goal or destination.

The Majora's Mask-esque time restriction ended up just making me feel frantic to complete whatever I was exploring rather than really try to read, understand, and take in the game's story or details in front of me. This frustration only grew with every blunder - such as falling from the floating transporters on Brittle Hollow into a wormhole teleporting me to the edge of the map, or making multiple failed attempts to navigate Dark Bramble. Most time loops were utterly wasted efforts, and my intention quickly shifted from enjoying the game to simply trying to beat it, until I eventually gave up. Everyone emphasizes in other reviews going in blind, but I haven't come across any singular spoilers that would completely ruin the experience if known in advance.

Outer Wilds is a game that seems to require deep investment, time and great patience. For me the lack of clear progress or even direction made it difficult to get any enjoyment out of it.

My opinion after beating the game is very mixed. It has a very good premise and lets you learn about the world through dialogue and books you find. It has very charming PS2 era graphics with varied locations and music as well as the character art and audio design is good, though some areas had a strange music choice that didn't seem to fit.

Exploration is the game's most fun aspect and selling point. It was enjoyable finding a new area to explore, but the exploration focus sometimes is the most frustrating part about the game. I know that people are used to modern RPGs telling you exactly where to go and what to do, but sometimes you can be completely stuck and not know where to go or how to progress simply because you didn't realize a simple clue. Other places were downright unfair or irritating either by being a winding labyrinth with dead ends and pointless areas, or by having insta kill traps which are even more frustrating given you have to reload a save, no way to recover your lost XP or progress. I never experienced any crashes, only some annoying bugs. At the end of the game's 50 room gauntlet, after retrieving the reward, I tried to read the tablet beside it only to get locked out of all controls and was forced to restart the game and do it over.

The combat can be very clunky with many enemies just being complete damage sponges with no choreographed attacks. The bosses are even worse, both of the boss fights I encountered were just a complete DPS check damage sponge until it was over. Leveling however is very well done, the levels you choose can give not just HP or damage, but faster movement speed or casting speed.

For me it came down to the price tag. Especially if you like the graphics style and appreciate exploration in games, it is easily worth the low price.

There isn't anything good I have to say about this game. I know it's a liminal spaces game, but it doesn't really do anything to stand out at all. Taking the game out of early access with 2/5 levels released isn't acceptable either.

This game is dead. Hi-Rez has laid off all of the developers for this game as well as all of their other games except for Smite 2 and announced there will be no new content for any of them. Even Smite 2's team has had people axed leaving the game and the company's future in question. This includes everyone that worked for the SPL meaning the pro scene and esports is dead too. This happened entirely due to poor management and leadership yet the CEO still has a job.

The beautiful art, and even better sound design and soundtrack are what makes this game

The Silent Hill 2 remake is an example of the great remakes that we see these days of old games, and is a solid horror game by today's standards. I like the quiet and slow atmosphere the game takes, and how the story and endings are somewhat ambiguous and open to interpretation. The combat is good, the soundtrack is excellent and is very fitting, and the game is truly scary at times. It is a great buy for anyone who can enjoy a good single player experience, and especially appeals to anyone who played the originals.

As every other review will say, this is possibly a perfect remake of an already great game. Capcom has become very good not only at remaking their old games but also is just very good at game development. It has an option for everything that it should and also runs very well in my experience

Early Access Review
People say this is a copy of Escape the Backrooms game but I think it is a somewhat better alternative. The game looks very good and has much better level design. There are some stages that are a bit difficult and one that frankly should be removed downright though. Primary concern is that the game will become abandonware as in recent updates the developer stated he's now the only one working on it. I still think if you're looking for a fun game night with friends this is a solid choice
