Will it scratch that classic TNG era itch? Yes.

If that's all you wanna know then I can safely say this is NOT about a bad guy who wants revenge, it's about the USS Resolute coming in to mediate a dispute and stumbling upon a bigger mystery.

It also doesn't revolve around shouting at people and then punching those people in the face. It's about navigating dialogue options that do have consequences. Like previous TellTale games, the reactions to those interactions are cartoonishly exaggerated, which is a little annoying to the player as characters blow the fuse like mad idiots. This is especially annoying with measured professionals out of Starfleet Academy.

In other words, it will scratch the TNG itch but it's rather flawed. Animations are stilted and the game is a little buggy. The whole package feels clunky and KB+M is not perfect even after the patch.

The game also relies on shooting galleries where you mindlessly mow down dozens of mooks... which is not what I want from Star Trek and it's certainly not what I want when the shooting mechanics are this boring, clunky and buggy.

I would love if the developers were to tone down the shooting galleries and had come up with some other mechanic that better captured what Star Trek is about: digging into a mystery using diplomacy, science & exploration. They could also take a lesson or two from the classic point & click Trek games which restricted action to Starship battles, those were fun according to my nostalgia.

Anyway, it was good enough for this trekkie.

Finally beat System Shock thanks to this very faithful remake.

Remember Citadel.

If you want classic isometric RPG, then this is another winner by Obsidian. They even introduced a fairly well-balanced turn based combat option (for which they got my money).

Factions, world building with historicity, an archipelago to explore, piracy, decent companions, quests to solve (including companion quests), and the fate of the world's future on your shoulders.

The game still has a few bugs and to be honest with all DLC installed it overstays its welcome. Not saying the DLC is bad, the Forgotten Sanctum is great in fact.

Hey, 2K, nobody wants your horrible, slow launcher/store bloatware.

After a lifetime I once again woke up in a mortuary slab in Sigil. My memories were not quite completely gone but very fuzzy and distant. Nevertheless, after so many years I found Sigil and the other planes remained unique and engrossing. They kept calling me back until I solved the mystery of The Nameless One, his past and immortality.

So yes the game is still very playable and enjoyable. The uniqueness is there to this day. So are the flaws (meh combat, rushed third act, bugs here and there). The flaws of course don't come close to tarnishing the positives which center on a fun cast of characters and exploration not so much of the planes but of dialogue trees. The "enhanced" edition adds some welcome bells and whistles (that you could mostly find as mods for years) but it still has more than a few bugs. Save early, save often.

Overwhelmingly good indeed. Inscryption keeps reinventing itself as you proceed, but never loses polish. Card battles, puzzles, creepy characters and a mystery you kinda unravel but it's not really the focus of the game. The focus of the game's the cool and imaginative card battles and deck building.

Ah, quantic dream. Maker of mediocre movies but somewhat interesting games.

Warning: controls suck. You don't always know what pressing the control prompt will do and more importantly KB + M is borderline broken for many sequences. I'd give the game a neutral horizontal thumb if i could.

Liked it much more than I was anticipating. It's a great merger of visual novel with point-and-click graphic adventure. The game has a solid horror atmosphere and at no point was I frustrated trying to figure out where to go next or what to do to proceed. There're a number of different endings depending on your decisions throughout the game. This is impressive work considering the budget, would certainly recommend and will be interesting to see what the developer does next.

I was never stuck with a puzzle with this game and while LIMBO left me with a strong poignant feeling by the end this one left me with a big WTF.
