Allows me to be my best dwarf self

I remember going to a friends house to play this when it released as my own PC at the time couldn't play it. It blew me away at the time and the work they have done on the remaster is so good.

When you look back at the games you used to play/remember from 20+ years ago, you always picture them being super crisp and high fidelity but nostalgia is a powerful thing and it's never what you remember. The remaster does away with all that and it looks, feels and plays as you remember.

This game is not only a fantastic Resident Evil game, it's a fantastic first person action horror game. Loved it from start to finish.

The world is 'open' enough to feel like you can explore sections of it without spending hours being side tracked.

There's enough upgrade paths for the weapons and character that it feels doable without being a grind and the pay off from doing so is rewarding.

The design of the different areas, enemies and bosses is fantastic. The overall design and aesthetic is really nice, I especially enjoyed the art style of the story book, a bit Tim Burton/Nightmare before Christmas-esque.

The story/writing, cut scenes and action are top notch. Yes it's a bit absurd at times but it's so thoroughly enjoyable I just got swept along in it all.

I clocked in at around 10 hours of game time and it just continued to get better as it went along, I can't recommend this game enough.

It does continue on from 7 so it is probably worth playing that one before hand for a complete picture of everything that is happening, but 7 was so good it's worth it.

The best review I can give this game is I intended to go to bed an a hour ago "just one more".

With the steam game awards and the "just 5 minutes more" category, I had to come back to say this game fits it perfectly!

Having just finished this game I can safely say I really like it. It creates such a great atmoshpere and intrigue. Kept me interested throughout my play through. Yes it is horror and it is a little scary, but it doesn't over do it. Enemies are used spraringly, they aren't over done and not frustrating. It's not gimmicky in it's use and is more forgiven than say Alien Isolation which I found to be the opposite. They are just enough to give the sense of danger but still allow you to explore the world and make your way through. I really like the way the game looks, not just graphically but the actual world and design of it. The story is decent and well executed, the characters are interesting and it leaves you wondering what next.
The game took me around 8 hours to finish and it felt just about right, it didn't draw the experience out and it felt complete enough to finish what it had to say. Would highly recommend if you enjoy the sci fi/horror themes.

Last few patches have really ruined this game. Complete arrogance and lack of respect for the community to add a game destroying weapon with out any testing. Don't leave the testing until it is implemented, in the mean time you have broken the game. This is why beta's and QA testing is a thing, use some of that hat money and employ some people to do it.

I don't usually play this type of game but this along with DMC may have turned me onto a new genre. The combat mechanics are really great in this, linking big combos and the chaos on screen as you hack and slash away at everything and everyone around you is really enjoyable.
The free blade slicing is fun to use as well. By entering a different state you can take control of where you slice by using the right stick, this gives you so much control and allows you to hack at a weakened enemies soft spot to grab BP (an ingame credit for buying new skins/weapons/moves/health etc).
The boss fights are well made and I found them pretty challenging, that last one took me a few attempts. But it pays as it feels a real achievement to do it.
The above topped off with an enjoyable story and backed up with decent cut scenes makes this a blast. I would recommend it. Game took me around 7 hours so its not a huge time ivestment but its all the better for it.

This was the first game of this genre I have played, certainly to completion that I can remember and I love it. The thumping sound track, the relentless combat and combos and a decent enough story to keep me entertained for the 10 hours it took. I may even go back to it and try to complete it at a harder difficulty(some of them seem insane, take no damage ever!) and will it has definitely open my eyes to a whole new library of games I never use to consider.

If you like South park then this game is an incredible bit of work. Some fantastic writing, the combat is fun and quite in depth and varied. A lot of fan service has gone into this and it has just about every character and location you can think of.
Would highly recommend this, how a licensed game should be done, a lot of care and detail with no effort spared.
