Hadaka ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥—Naked Butlers has entered my personal top three of favorite visual novels. It's one of those things that divides life into before and after. Before playing it I definitely was a bit different person.

I remember how excited I was to see the game about butlers. This game is far from being new but it's just recently released on steam. Thanks MangaGamer for this wonderful gift! Reading the announcement about the release, first I recollected how much I loved that anime 'Black Butler'. There's something mesmerizing in this topic. By the way, Sakuma was that example of perfect butler for me as well. That dedication, aim to do everything impeccably is amazing!

Then I noticed it's yaoi and...aww being a fan of this genre I thought it was definitely a must. But reading through the store page I was awestruck by the warning list. I'm sure it's the longest one I've ever seen. I agree that this game may be not for everyone. If you just want to romance some gorgeous butlers seeking enchanting romantic relationship...it's not for you. Well, there's one 'light ending' in every route. But the majority of endings except true ones are called 'bad' for a reason. So before buying it you definitely should read mature content description thoroughly, asking yourself if you're gonna be ok with all that. I personally was more intrigued honestly.

My favorite character ever is Alex from 'Beyond Eden'. It was such a new experience to see antagonistic MC. I felt his pain, shared his hatred and joined him in that revenge. Everything he did was completely justified for me. So, after I had finished the game, I longed for more. But...usually when I see such warning tags in games it just means it's MC who's going to suffer through all that. And I finally got that rare opportunity to be on the other side again. I couldn't wait for the release. I was so curious to learn about the story, to see if his sadism would be depicted...naturally, if it'd be explained in that way that I could indulge myself into some kinky experience. Well, I shouldn't have doubted...

I became even more intrigued when my friend complained the game was not gonna be available for her country. So she bought it from MangaGamer site before official steam release and... She got her first bad ending for 'being too kind', lmao. And she dropped the game after it saying it was too cruel, she couldn't relate to MC at all, his bullying was completely unjustifiable... She also added she didn't understand why the game had the tag 'comedy'. But oh my, I laughed so much while playing, especially in Ichinose's route. Some things were kinda exaggerated but just hilarious! Not everything should be treated seriously.

MC looked quite nice at the beginning, I was curious to find out how that breaking point, that transition was gonna happen. I really liked it how his sadistic nature was revealed. Everything was flawless in plot development. There WAS reasoning behind all what he was doing, different in different routes, sometimes I didn't accept it but could understand it to some extent, and sometimes I was practically drooling. Fight me but mc is shown in a great way even if I couldn't relate all the time and I don't try to justify all his actions or say that he was 100% right but considering the setting I could really relax and enjoy new experiences. ...At some point I stopped seeking explanation to his behavior, accepted his/my twisted pleasure and just dived into that unique atmosphere. That was even frightening a bit. I'm sure everyone will find something disturbing in all his actions but...sorry but...I kinda enjoyed it.

MC often repeats 'I'm not a gay', lol but the game really is more about the pleasure of domination, master-butler relationship. There's even one female char involved in every route. It's my first yaoi game with this feature. At first it was a bit disappointing but the way she was presented in the story was totally fine for me.

It wasn't immediately that I began to enjoy all his sadism, became completely immersed by those overwhelming feelings of corruption and dominance. It's natural to think about your partner's pleasure as well. But the thing is it takes some courage to realize and accept some kinks, so there must be someone pushing you off limits but still not taking it too far. Right, those gorgeous butlers were frightened and pleading for mercy at first but they were so pleased afterwards... Was it so wrong if they enjoyed it so much?! And once again I'd like to emphasize that people should remember to distinguish reality and games. As my friend often says 'Don't kinkshame!'. Let yourself experience some new peculiar things.

Not only kinky controversial content is interesting about this game. It's fully voiced, including MC. And all voice actors are amazing. Art is very pretty, CGs are neatly organized in a cute gallery, also containing the list of numerous endings and scenes which you can replay. The game features about 500(!) CGs and you know, I made 300 screenshots and only a small part is uploaded publicly. Though you have an option to use mosaic, can't imagine who would do it but...

Writing is gorgeous, characters have nice psychologically deep personalities. Every route has a solid, quite interesting story! I noticed a number of typos but overall English is excellent. The game isn't short at all. It's stated 30+ hours of average reading. After you finish all endings for all five butlers there's also a true ending route which was very gripping for me personally. That was really delightful to reveal mansion's secret. And finally you get a truly impressive extra story. What a great way to finish the game offering not only explanation of everything in true ending route but a backstory as well. I'm excited! Quite soon I was so entranced by that story. It made me so emotional, starting the game I didn't expect it'd be the one to make me cry. Such a wild contrast! It's like getting two games instead of one.

There's just one thing I found a bit annoying--you can't skip fast as every day (and MC spends a month at the mansion) you have to click choosing what to do and going to sleep. As a result it takes so much time to go through all endings.

I wish I could write an absolutely frank review revealing all my improper thoughts about this experience but I'll keep it decent xD. As it was often said during the story the game 'tickled my sadistic side'. I got such a rare chance to self-insert into a rather sadistic MC, 'ultimate semi' as my steam friend called him ;). But you know the game might be interesting for a switch or someone with masochistic preferences, who said you couldn't imagine yourself being a cute butler. So, you should weigh up all pros and cons but I'd recommend not to miss this unique experience!
