A great premise that sadly suffers from being a little stretched out in the latter portion of the game. I still had a fun time playing this through don’t get me wrong. It does enough to change the formula with new abilities or gameplay mechanics (some being inspired by classic games which was a nice touch) that keep you engaged in between the different chapters.

I don’t think there is a section here, 3D or 2D or… minigames? that didn’t feel annoying to play, except the combat, which probably could’ve done with being a little more fleshed out as upgrades didn’t serve much purpose, that was what dragged it out the most by the end, and maybe speeding up the character a little. Besides that, I thought this was a very simple but well made, creative & charming little platformer. I can see how maybe somebody could probably find this too easy and get bored, but I think this is more of a ‘sit back & relax’ puzzle game rather than something that demands your full attention, and I thought that fit well with its childlike wonder. It doesn’t exactly reinvent the wheel but the presentation throughout felt clean, especially the animations in the cutscenes.

Oh, only thing I’d like to mention, I did run into a couple of bugs along the way too, nothing game-breaking luckily, just silly ones that’ll hopefully get fixed in a patch. There were two plucky squires at one point!

ubisoft connect

(this doesn't mean to say the game itself is bad but im really tired of ubisoft advertising games like they're on steam when in reality its just a launcher for their dumb app)

Everything that's been built inside of this experience makes it the perfect introduction for anyone looking to get into the survival horror genre. It takes the many virtues of the classics and strings it together with such a strong sense of identity that, given enough time, I think this could be seen as one of the best indie survival horrors in terms of its aesthetics. It’s a love letter to the fans of these games but also a great way to start for any new players.

A short but well polished platformer that pays homage to classic 3D Sonic games in its own way. If you're looking for a simple collect-a-thon to pass the day away then I highly recommend it, the extra characters also add a fun way to replay the experience once finished with some bonus end stages!

glad they could finally port JSRF to steam :)

but seriously every aspect of this game rules, check it out if you're looking for a modern re-imagining of jet set radio's formula with way better camera controls

Hi-Fi Rush is astonishing. It takes inspiration from Scott Pilgrim, Jet Set Radio & Sunset Overdrive and creates a beautiful world, brimming with life. If you're looking for a fresh spin on the 'Rhythm game' genre or even if you're new to it, I can't recommend this enough.
