I really want to like this but it feels immensely dumbed down from Eternal (which I loved) to the point where I feel like they feedback from the game journalist who got stuck on the Cuphead tutorial and tuned it specifically for him.

Pros:
Finally get to pilot the mech
That gun that shoots bits of skulls

Cons:
Forgettable soundtrack
Weird pacing
Sparse, barren levels
Poor transition between levels

This feels like it was made by the B team, no disrespect intended, it just doesn't have that same soul that 2016 and Eternal had.

I'm sure this is a game for someone, but that someone isn't me.

If my opinion changes after finishing it I'll edit this review.

pretty good remaster, very bad performance

way less colourful than the original and has that ugly unreal engine shine to it

i cant believe how much fun im having with this game

This game artistically stands up, the environments are fascinating and beautiful.

The crafting is frankly still outstanding as well, you can combine flour and water to make dough, place it next to a fire to bake it.

While not perfect that is part of the charm in my opinion, though some will be put off by the jankiness in some places.

I highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys dungeon crawlers with excellent lore and world building.
