This game is very much bare bones still, and feels like a more user-friendly DayZ. However, do not let this deter you from playing Surroundead. For what it is already, this game is a lot of fun and it is easy to sink a few hours in a gameplay loop. The map may look small but on foot traveling into towns in dangerous. Vehicles make long distant trips easier, but the driving can feel unresponsive at times. You'll crash a lot and repair kits are 2x2 items that can take up a lot of room if your need to carry a couple extras. Inventory management is fun on its own and anyone who loves grid based inventories will find themselves right at home.
Overall, SurrounDead feels like a mix between Project Zomboid and DayZ; giving a sense of casual gameplay with intense horde moments. I've only played for a few hours and will update my review after some time.
