Pure ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ slop. Can't even make the tutorial look good, not even enough effort to make a potemkin village to at least fool you into thinking this could be worthwhile. Visually uninspired characters, stupid plotline, enemies and environments look like a particularly bad PS2 game. You could at least churn out better graphics with stable diffusion if you're too lazy to make an enemy that isn't a blurry tadpole. Lots stupid blobs floating around. Absolute trash mobile port. If you're going to have a desktop port of a mobile game then at least don't use raster images sized for an iPhone on modern monitors. Plenty of people on some sort of ultrawide, and it it looks terrible.

Avoid Neocraft games. The miniscule time I took to download and open this feels wasted. These devs have absolute contempt for you and no pride in themselves.

There's a lot of positive reviews for this product and I see most people talking about all the good things this game has to offer, but there's one thing nobody mentions: this game has the perfect retro UI.

Incredibly attractive rendering with screen curvature, bloom, jitter, static noise, glow lines, flickering, horizontal sync, -- I mean they are really capturing the feel of P3 phosphor CRTs in these menus (devs add some burn-in please for the full Wyse experience). Incredibly cozy and nostalgic, like everything else about this game.

This thing is mechanically lacking and sadly very short. I wish they would do a lot more with it, but in terms of aesthetics this is the perfect roguelike experience. If you play roguelikes, you have to play this.

I see a lot of negative reviews on this being a result of the gacha being too stingy to get their preferred waifus from other parts of the Atelier franchise. I come to this particular game with no attachment to the Atelier franchise. I have played some of the Atelier games on the PS3 and Switch, but I never got super into them. They are cozy but unmemorable to me, and I didn't retain any knowledge or feelings about the characters. So not being able to get characters I like from the console games does not bother me at all -- though I do concur that the amount of pulls you get as a F2P does seem like a lot less than other successful gacha games. I feel my lack of Atelier attachment lets me be more objective than other players.

This is an extremely well done gacha game. It could easily be a Switch title without gacha mechanics. The voice acting is good (for a weeb garbage series), the soundtrack is solid, the cutscene animations are well done. There's a few exceptions on the animation front -- the marketing creatives on the gacha screen and musical intros are horrifically low resolution MPEGs and I'm running an WFHD ultrawide. They look like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ trash. But otherwise things are good.

If I have one complaint about this game, it is with the inconsistency of the breast jiggle physics. Resna's modest cups jiggle as if her bra did not exist, which is great. They seem to jiggle even when they shouldn't. Sometimes when she stands still after a bit of movement I see them in a low resonant vibration, as if her breasts are some sort of low-output perpetual motion engine. I mean they have really amped these puppies up. These tiny tits defy Newtonian physics. In contrast, huge honkers do not jiggle enough. Marie has these fantastic tits on display and there is an extremely meager amount of jiggle. They barely move. Even if she's rocking bolt-ons they should jiggle more than this. I get that they are going for moe over lewdness, but that's no excuse to dampen the jiggling on big tits. The stony inertia of these melons is off-putting when contrasted with the fantastic hypermotion of the smaller sized young teens. Please, Koei, let those fleshbags flop. You have to fix this.

The good: absolutely gorgeous spritework. In the running for the best I've ever seen. Definitely in the top 4. Insofar as gacha tactics goes, if you were sad when The Alchemist Code shut down, this is it for you. This is the only replacement you're going to get. I suppose that makes it de facto good.

The mediocre: the tactics mechanics. Everyone puts in their marketing that their game is inspired by Final Fantasy Tactics but makes a game that's more like Fire Emblem. Nobody ever felt inspiration from the gameplay in Fire Emblem, but that's what you always end up settling for as a developer. To be fair, the fleeting genius of FFT is like catching lightning in a bottle. The fact that they are still porting FFT and successfully generating sales on multiple platforms after over a dozen ports should let you know it's something special. We're all inspired by the Sistine Chapel but few will ever paint like Michaelangelo.

The soundtrack is also extremely repetitive and uninspired at points. It could use some TLC.

The bad: the plotting and dialogue. Even worse than standard JRPG slop. Is it a regression? A time loop? No, they've created something even more inane where it is kind of like time travel but time is no longer linear and the experiences are actually in alternate reality and you are basically wading around in the spacetime equivalent of a puddle of vomit. A cheap Chinese knockoff of tedious, stupid j-trash. It's like they said "what can we do with the setting to make sure we never have to keep track of anything we wrote prior so we can outsource writing to whoever is cheapest on any given day?"

This might not be the most glowing of reviews, but I am about to completely nolife on this game. Like I said earlier, this is it. They have released the only product in the niche, and I'm going to play the hell out of it even though it isn't up to the gameplay standards of TAC, and TAC's gameplay itself was far short of what it should be as well, falling very short of FFT.... there's just not going to be anything better than this. I'll eat the slop.

If you loved Secret of Mana, Tales of Phantasia, Star Ocean, or Seiken Densetsu 3, this is absolutely good. A great homage to cozy SNES action RPGs.

Early Access Review
This is a very fun roguelike. Some aspects of the mechanics seem a bit imbalanced -- It doesn't make sense to fear low level grunts with torches more than boss mobs, because the ingredients to make balms for burning are a bit rare and you can find wood to make a split that can heal a broken bone in seconds lying around anywhere. You'll be walking around with people wincing at your disgusting burn wounds and telling you to get those checked out.

This is good enough that I can give it a very solid recommendation especially considering it is early access. I'd even put it in the roguelikes top 20 at this point, just for the scope of the open world and the polished interface. If you love roguelikes, you are obligated to eventually buy this one.

This is probably tied with Caves of Qud in the most polished roguelike UI/UX that has ever been made. People don't understand how this is free, as the only equivalently polished product in the genre has a $20 pricetag. There's plenty of labors of love in the roguelike genre but very few laborers of love want to do everything to the rigors of commercial software.

Where it departs from the traditional roguelike formula is the persistent, handmade surface world that it really wants you to explore, and mechanically rewards you for doing so. This is a lot less tactical than most roguelikes but not in a bad way. There's so much going on in this world, and you're going to enjoy exploring it.

Normally I wouldn't see the need to throw a positive review of a game into a pile of Overwhelmingly Positive reviews, but virtually none of my Steam friends have played this game. I haven't heard anyone talk about it. I stumbled across it searching for roguelikes on Steam that had good review ratios. I'm a jaded person filled with hatred and loathing. It is hard to get me to be an evangelist, but a guy making something for free that is this good out of love manages to get me to do so. I shout in defiance of the gods: PLAY MOONRING. If you only play one game this year, play Moonring.

Early Access Review
> Inspired by Tales of Maj Eyal, Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup

I beg the devs to make good on this statement. There's just too little meat to the gameplay, a simple walk through a linear series of chambers you can't even scroll through. Not a lot of tactics going on here, I managed to beat this thing instantly. ToME and DCSS have serious difficulty and incredible depth. There's not a lot of meat on the bones here.

There's so much good to say about this game. It has the best tileset I have ever seen, the ambiance and general vibe is incredible. Which is why I am so disappointed, to the point of utter heartbreak, that this experience ended so quickly with so little struggle or gameplay. I realize this is labelled early access but the stated launch date is a mere month from now -- I do not expect a drastic transformation of what we see here in this time. What this game has going on is SO good that morality demands that the developers rethink what they are doing, add more depth and substance to the mechanics, maybe flesh out a real campaign. I don't know. Please don't let it end like this. This can be so much more.

Great networking code. Works great in absence of UDP transport, even over Tor! Koreans as usual have their ♥♥♥♥ together, unlike obese Americans. Also gorgeous waifus, enjoyable action RPG gameplay and pretty decent breast jiggle physics, absolutely better than any other MMO. I bought this on sale for three dollars and haven't been disappointed.

> see notice of new big update to game I love, get excited
> eagerly install
> completely different game, almost unplayable
> infuriating interface issues, no way to bind skills to multiple mouse buttons, no way to even use anything but right click to do basic attack, unbindable in keyboard settings. have to disable mouse movement to do anything, now my mouse is practically useless and I can't basic attack because there's NO ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ KEY ON THE KEYBOARD TO DO SO
>summons stand pixel-for-pixel on top of eachother so you can't easily see how many you have or the one that isn't stacked top's healthbar

This is just my first five minutes.

This is a half-baked and worthless effort and I don't know how it got out of QA or user feedback on the beta. I cannot believe the game I actually enjoyed got replaced by this complete and total garbage. please let me access the original Hero Siege that I gladly bought and highly enjoyed. Please never let me have to see this tripe ever again.

Update: OH MY GOD THEY WANT ME TO PAY MONEY FOR MORE INVENTORY SPACES, THERE IS NO LOWER FORM OF LIFE THAN THE DEVELOPERS OF THIS GAME
