Since people are not getting it... Let me add a simple example. This is NOT localization, this is just completely changing the dialogue, for no purpose.

When you talk to Rosetta in town after meeting the crew, she says:
Japanese:
そうねぇ。それじゃあ、
この街の楽しことを調査してもらえる？
Romaji:
Sō nē. Sore jā,
kono machi no tanoshi koto o chōsashite moraeru?
Literal Translation:
Let me see. Well then,
Can you research fun things to do in this city?

While the in-game Translation is:
Let's see,
Guidebooks are pretty useful. Ever thought about writing one?

Offering help to Roland:
Japanese:
ふむ。。。確かに、
人手は多い方がありがたいですが。。。
Romaji:
Fumu... Tashika ni,
hitode wa ōi kata ga arigataidesuga...
Literal Translation:
yes... surely,
I would appreciate it if there were more people. . .

While the in-game Translation is:
Very well,
I won't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Please explain to me, in which way this is not changing what the real phrase should be? And also, the "raw" translation makes more sense then adding this "context".

And this is one example. The game pretty much changes everything. And if you still don't believe me, go looking for other reviews, even positive ones, people give more examples than this...

Again, for someone who knows a Japanese, this is making wonder if I'm mistranslating it in my head or they are butchering the real japanese dub.

The game is GORGEOUS. Absolutely amazing. I've been waiting for it for about 6 years since I saw the trailer, and was not disappointed, it looks fantastic.

While I feel the pain in some reviews, I am yet to experience any problems at all. The game runs smooth, 120fps, not dips, no lag, no issues. I run also with v-sync 60, smooth.
No crashes, no problems. But this is me, does not mean the game doesn't need fixing. Please keep an eye for the patch and bug fixes if you have this problems, I hope your pain goes away when they fix it fellow PC Master Racers.


The translation sucks, it must have been done before the whole debacle...
For someone who knows Japanese, but still needs subtitles for fast or difficult phrases it's very cringe.

They change EVERYTHING, not a single phrase is what it should be.

I would NOT recommend it just for this, and CyGames needs to fix this as soon as possible. Not everyone lives or is from english speaking countries, and the cringe is hard.

Also, do yourself a favor and stay away from dub.

MK removed their spine guys... they have none.

Ubisoft needs to stop trying to invent, wildlands was already bad, but compared to this one it's a masterpiece.
The menus, the system, the shoving down your throat we are good a making stories... too much.

Just skip this one, horrible UI, gameplay mechanics and story.

The game is flawed and repetitive.
It starts fun and exciting, but in the end there are only 4 types of enemies, and they are bullet sponges. There is no tactics in fighting, it doesn't matter if you hide, if you prey, whatever, they send flying missiles to teenagers and expect them to survive?
Enemies spawn inside your base.
Enemies detect your through walls.
No Swimming.
Engine sucks, performance is abysmal on a good system.
They spent more time fixing the engine than making a good game.
The game went from really nice to really bad fast.
Don't buy it, it's not worth it.

The game does not work.
There are "workarounds" but they barely work, and its such a hassle.
Either CAPCOM updates the game as they did with RE5 or they refund everyone.
I think this is the perfect example of why DRM of this style is bad.

Basically this game has the BEST combo system in the whole industry of games, it is UNDERRATED to oblivion.

Wait a minute! You must be asking, you have zero hours into the game how can you review it?
I have completed this game on PS4 when it launched, day one buy, I've been a huge fan since the 2000 seires (PS2 games) and this is one of the games that everyone just throws off because of the lovely bikini ladies.

The Good
The combo system, this is flawless, once you get used to it, and actually learn, it is NOT a button mashing, it can be if you don't want to play, and just want to see some bikini, but trust me, it gets really fun, feels like a true master piece once you discover the proper ways to do it.
The graphics ( of the models only ) are really well done, they are still a bit XBOX-ish, but still good.

The Bad[/u]
It has a B movie plot line, and it can get really repetitive and boring fast. If you don't allow yourself the cheesy story line and the bad puns, then don't try (unless you really like combos), you will not like this. The game is supposed to be this stupid, so if you are not into this, it will turn you off really quick, so it is bad, because if they gave a bit more of effor, it could have been big, perhaps better than DMC ( and dmc already has some weird story ).

The Ugly
Enemies and Scenario... this is just plain ugly, PS2 graphics at best, they basically didn't change since then, just increased the tri counts and that's it... both scenario and enemies are low effort, are not up to modern standards.

Final veredict

If you are not willing to pay full price, on sale it's worth every penny, it will five you at least some hours of fun, and if you are really into achievements, they have good ones for you.
Can't recommend it enough, it is a really fun game if you look past some flaws, and I will say it once again, BEST COMBO SYSTEM EVER, if not for anything else I've said, this is the must buy, go watch any combo video on youtube if you don't trust me.
